The X5 in the picture, though, certainly has more leather than the currently available "extended" leather because even when you opt for extended, the lower dash is not covered in leather.
So, the image shows either something between "extended" and "full" which is unlikely or - what I believe but certainly not hope - the door pockets on the X5 will never be leather covered..

Unlike the X7, the full merino leather option on the X5
WILL NOT include leather on the lower door panels (door pocket area). This is something BMW will do to differentiate the X5 from the X7. The same thing applies to the full merino leather option on the 5 series (including the M5) and the 7 series i.e the lower door panels on the 5 series are not adorned in leather whereas on the 7 series they are.
