It's #16. in this diagram. I have not dug into these engines much, but given the location of that sensor I would pay someone to confirm it's bad before I tried to fish in there or took off the manifold.
What is your failure condition for the A/C? Mine was cutting out at a stop and I thought this indicated an A/C issue. BMW scanned the car and found it was shutting down the A/C because it was getting too hot due to a failed radiator fan. I never got any lights on the dash, and the A/C started working again as soon as I got up to speed.
I replaced the fan myself and cleared the codes. There was a code 801224 "Air conditioning compressor: Shut-down due to excess pressure in refrigerant circuit" in the DME, but again I was never told anything through the dash lights or the iDrive.

thanks for the reply I will give a visual inspection on the sensor under the manifold maybe I can see something.
im not getting any codes today on my way to work the oil temp gauge was working and all was good this is very weird and kinda driving me crazy.
when ever the gauge is not reading
My A/C doesn't cool at 100% and my radiator fan runs at 1000% super loud those are the symptoms
found the sensor for $40 I think im gonna take a gamble and order it replace it and see what happens
thanks again
