Should I trade in my N52 or wait?

Hey guys, I found an N54 with the same color car as I currently have. I'm debating on trading my N52 for this one or should I just wait for the newer M3/M4?

I've always loved the options available for the N54 especially tuning wise but after seeing video campaign of the M's...they're just beasts!

If you can afford a new M3/4, that's a no brainer.

Keep the N52 as your beater and roll the M on those beautiful sunny days only.

Are you going to put performance mods in the n54? I would wait and test drive the M models then decide. Find some local members with performance modded n54's and see what you think. There are some high powered n54's converted from twin turbo to big single turbo. Search for FFTEC in the forum. Not saying new M models aren't the way to go but if you like to mod your car and spend a fraction of the cost of purchasing a new car then a used 335i may be a good choice.

Comparing apples and pears...

The N52, the N54 and the new S55 are three complete different stories...

"Should i buy a used N54 or a new M3?" What the hell is that for a question???

Your question should be: N54 / S55?

- cost of purchase?
- maintenance cost?
- insurance?
- reliability?
- re-sale?
- options?
- fun?

Get it?

Why?
The N54 can fill a niche.

For me it was between a C5Z06 and a N54 335, the 335 won out due to lots of extras vs. C5Z06 and how cheap it was to mod.

well, most likely with the first few coming out there's always kinks to get out of the way, but yeah the new M is definitely appealing. some of the complaints out there are the interior and how it still seems bland. but we'll see.
