Another GTR thread
I've seen a lot about the GTR on here lately. It is a badass car, but none are as badass as my friends. Here is the quick story:
Modded GTR (boost controller, cat delete, stock exhaust, can't remember what else) DYNO: 640 awhp, 740 awtrq (numbers are slightly rounded, cant remmeber exact) on a Mustang dyno Dragstrip: today ran a 11.04 at 129 mph with a 1.8x 60'. DA close to 1100 ft. He got kicked out after that for no rollbar. He left the track and had someone start the install today. It will be the first 10s GTR. Pretty ridiculous for a street car on street tires! This thing is a beast.

He must have a lot more than a boost controller and cat delete to gain over 200 horsepower at the wheels. Would also be running much faster than low 11's with that much power

if its really making that much power.....wow
also, I dont see how it could make that much power, be an automatic, and run that slow. Yes I know that is not slow, but it is as "slow" as a stock Z06 can run pushing 200whp less.

I dislike "automatics" as much as the next person... but I would never talk down about the GTR's auto tranny.. That thing has an incredible transmission.. that is not slowing it down

I was not talking it down at all, I was pointing that out as a reason for it to run faster if it in fact has that much power.

Well, he has all this stuff from HKS on it. Go to dragtimes.com and it lists his mods. He can easily do 10s, but needs more practice (that's why I mentioned only the 1.8 60' with all wheel drive). I've never seen a stock ZO6 at the drags trap 129 mph and I've seen at least 20 of them.

yeah, I've seen and heard about that 10.9. Very hard to believe, but it was at a great track.

I was there......its true, J. Furman is a driving machine. he pulls great times out of all the other supercars he has, which is quite a few. He currently holds the fastest C6 Z06 stock record and fastest Viper ACR stock record.....thats no accident.

A machine driving a machine...that seems unfair! haha. I am a firm believer that the driver can make a car much better - I saw my brother run a 12.8 in a 05 GT with intake and tune only with a 1.81 60' on stock rims and tires! I've never seen anything even close to this with the same mods, out of the hundreds of other GTs I've seen. Stop derailing my thread now!
