Picked up an almost fully loaded X7 M50i this past weekend and said goodbye to a Trackhawk. Sad about the loss of pace, but super excited about everything else.
Owned one BMW many years ago, a 4 door 1990 318i. Drove many bimmers over the years at BMW events. Always appreciated their dynamics, but not to a point to own a modern one. It all changed almost a week ago. Glad I pulled the trigger. Been impressed with everything the car does - well, except limited air suspension control. Thinking of adding a piggyback for more torque, but it isn't a must. The X7 drives well, but compared to the 'hawk, it doesn't feel like it wants to be rushed. The Jeep kept egging me on, each and every time to hoon as much as possible. I will miss its raw power and relatively nimble driving experience. Lots to learn… about coding stuff… and about modern BMWs, as well. The X7 will have to keep me entertained until the snow melts, salt washes away, and my other toys come out. |
