No Split Headlights on the 2022 X7

Hello All,

New BMW owner here, I have a 2022 X7 M50i in Dravit/Ivory waiting to go into production. I've seen a ton of worry that the 22's would have the split(LCI) headlights. I can confirm that the 22's will indeed have the same headlights as the 21's. I'm hoping this alleviates some of the concern.

Anyway, excited to get my new rig and be a part of this dope forum.

Cheers!

I believe you're confusing MY2022 with calendar year 2022 which would be the model year 2023 LCI refresh. The '22 model is unchanged from '21.

I always knew that the 22' wouldn't have the refresh. But I've seen plenty of people in this forum saying things like "I'm about to order a 22' but I'm worried it'll have the split headlights. Or, "I better hang onto or buy a 21'".

Looks like you're the one who's confused. What International Dave said above is accurate and helpful.

I believe Dave was referring to this post in this thread.

The thread clearly says the "LCI Start of Production is August 2022" in the first post.

Indeed, that is the comment I was referencing.

When do you expect to get your 2022 X7? It is supposed to SOP in August 2021. Would you be able to get it at the end of August?

I was told I would get mine (order placed today) by end of August.

No need to correct him. He just posted a simple statement about his order. Someone may find it helpful.

Fair enough... apologies if I came across that way. Was just trying to clarify for what I thought was a confused OP (MY2022 vs CY2022)

I don't personally believe that split lights are going to happen in the foreseeable future for bmw.
they've moved away from that. Doesn't make sense to come back to it so soon.

Did you get any options back from the 2021 models? Or if you know if some options returned like optional HK speakers (Standard on M50i) and DHP package? Those were the 2 things not available on my build '21, still waiting on production, but they say will be finished by July 23 and then delivered, but it hasn't moved from in production to assembly for 3 weeks now. Maybe the storm they had halted some production and delayed it a few days.

You are not alone, while there has been confusion in this group, we beat to death that the LCI refresh is due August 2022, not 2021 in the other thread.

DHP (and IAS as a stand-alone option) is back on the 40i as of yesterday. Not sure if too late to update your build of you really want it.

Still no HK

Is this confirmed by dealer? When my DHP got dropped, it was still showing up on the website for the 40i. It wasn't showing for the m50i however. So not sure what is going on. I don't think I can add it back in as mine is now in production with completion on July 23.

I didn’t confirm with the dealer. It just showed back up online as an option yesterday.

Oh okay. Yea, when my DHP was dropped for the order, I was so frustrated from the dropped option, so I didn't believe my dealer when he told me as I still saw it on the website and I kept monitoring the website daily (sometimes multiple times in a day), and the option was never removed, but it was removed on the dealers end. My dealer sent me this pic, if it was available, you could see it in the options.

Been reading through the threads the last few days and it's pretty clear the LCI was the concern which is still a year out. Don't there there is any change to '22 model vice the loss of several great options. Definitely won't be buying new but will be looking to pick up one fresh off lease in the next year or 2. Questionable moves by BMW as of late, including the upcoming split head lights design (100% believe its coming).

Are change orders still possible? My dealer is claiming they aren't able to make any changes. I wanted to add M sport brakes 🥴. My car still hasn't hit production and won't be there for another 3-4 weeks.

Yes, if the order is still waiting for queue, then you can change it however many times you want. I have added and removed things multiple times without issue with the dealer. If you get the vin, then it is cemented I believe.
