eSIM Generates Multiple T-Mobile Lines

I own a 2024 BMW XM, and I attempted to set up the Personal eSIM feature, expecting it to work smoothly. Initially, it did function properly, but after a few days, I started receiving odd messages from T-Mobile, such as:

"Thanks for adding 1 line(s) to your T-Mobile account."

This would happen on different days, sometimes adding two lines at once, which would later be automatically canceled.

I have three standard lines—two in use and one free. I registered one line to the car, which then created a digital line. That part made sense. However, somehow, I ended up with 10 lines total, five of which were suspended.

This became extremely frustrating, so I removed the eSIM altogether. Despite this, I was hit with a large bill, and T-Mobile claimed it wasn’t their fault, stating that the car keeps generating new lines. When I reached out to BMW, they also denied responsibility.

Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Each time your software updates, Verizon has a tendency to register that as a new number share device on your account and charges an activation fee automatically, all while keeping your original number share line on your account.

You can quickly end up paying for multiple vehicle number share lines and a bunch of activation fees.

I’ve spent hours correcting my bills with them and decided it just wasn’t worth the hassle anymore. They then tried to
charge a deactivation fee I wasn’t having that…
