UUC exhaust impressions / video
Just wanted to share what I think about this exhaust.
I love the sound, and the price was awesome. The quality of the mufflers & welds seem great, and the tips look good too. It is relatively quiet when cruising around, except at 3000-3400 it has a bit of drone. It gets loud enough under heavy throttle but never too loud. The fitment was good but not perfect. It took a little bit of adjusting to get everything lined up correctly. The instructions were also very detailed. Overall I like it a lot, especially for the price. Here are a few clips: [u2b]<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/mG20Fy3ancc&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/mG20Fy3ancc&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>[/u2b] |

Sounds really nice and exotic, but I'm still not a fan of the tips. So when you say drone at 3k rpm, you mean drone at highway speeds?

Thanks for the vid.
Does launch control work while you're rolling a little?

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

That's their ad - "the no-drone system". I've had Corsa in the past on other cars and, frankly, it wasn't all that great. Their hardware frequently broke - I snapped some of their bolts in half no doing anything all that unusual. Plus, it did drone. I don't think there is any such thing as a "no-drone" exhaust - they will all drone at some harmonic level. It depends on the owner whether they "like" or "dislike" it.

Concur....my old STi with a resonator-less 3" pipe bosal-exhaust DRONED until I got rid of it for another exhaust. Drone is painful, and will cause you to get a headache on long drives. It is not just engine "hum" or "noise" - that is just the result of increased volume.
