Android Auto Questions
Just got the new Samsung S22 and using Android Auto for the first time in the X7. Pairing worked without a hitch but I am noticing that notification for email doesn't work. I also don't hear the phone ringing through the car (just the phone). I've tried rebooting but to no avail.
For those using Android Auto - are you getting email notifications? I get notifications for Messages/SMS but no other messenger applications (e.g, Kakaotalk etc.). Thanks |

Yep, for sure... we are coming from Iphone and really missed stability of Car Play
Hopefully Samsung/Google or BMW will provide an update. My single biggest complaint is not being able to hear the phone ring or provide notification when connected to the car. |

Haha interesting because there have been more complaints on here or maybe on FB Forums of carplay then AA. Anyways, I only have the S21 and don't have any issues.

Try removing all connections from your phone to the car and remove the Bluetooth connection and try adding it again,
Also make sure the developers mode on your android device is deactivated That might help |

I just stopped using AA because I like the factory maps and have had no issue with texts, etc using factory radio. |

Check all your permissions in the app settings. I have no issues getting notifications on my note 20 ultra.
Get FermataAuto installed and you'll gain access to YouTube while on the move. |

Also, if you use the Samsung email app (versus the Google/Gmail one), I’m not sure that’s Android Auto compatible. |

Once they released new version of the iOS-only M laptimer, I confirmed my decision. It's great for the occasional track day without having to invest in some gear that I'd use a couple times a year. I still can't stand the iPhone for most things (unlock, notifications, and other iOS nuances), but it at least works well with my car.

2020 X7 Dealer says Android Auto not available via OTA
I am looking at a 2020 X7 at my local dealer and the dealer says that since it was built prior to July 2020 that it is not eligible to be updated to enable Android Auto. Does this sound correct? I have researched this and it sounds like many others with even 2019 X7s have gotten an OTA that enabled Android Auto.
Any advice is appreciated. |

Android auto works fine for me. I have the S22 Ultra. It does ring with my phone's ringtone through the BMW sound system. Honestly I haven't noticed if emails make a tone but I'm guessing it doesn't because I'm sure I'd remember that if for no reason other than I get so many emails it would annoy the hell out of me. I don't want email sounds in the car. Just text.

Notifications have been broken for quite a while, Google is supposedly working on a fix (like many other things...). Ringtone should work.
