Hertz rents Corvettes. They have a special limited edition ZHZ yellow with a black stripe down it. Got one in Vegas last week for $82 a day. Corvette's are fun when they are not yours. Just about every major city should have them. Anything else you will pay tons of money for because they are all at private rental locations like the one mentioned above. While I know a Corvette is not a Porsche it's still 436hp and not yours to beat the hell out of. Also Hertz does NOT give the car a lengthy inspection like private rental companies do so you can burn the tires all you want.

I know Hertz has some kind of "platinum collection" or something like that. My dad got a Jaguar X-type trough them at one point.

Out here in the SoCal area....Enterprise Rent A Car locations rent 3 series, along with many other premium brands. I've rented a C class from them for about $40 a day.

In SF, Specialty Rent-a-Car, they're also a local franchise of National.
In LA, try Budget of Beverly Hills on Sunset Blvd. Dollar in certain US cities, SF. LAX, LAS, MIA/FLL and MCO have Mercedes and Minis. It really depends on where you're arriving.

You could rent a Mini Cooper S 6MT from Alamo. I had one for a week out in Arizona and it was great fun. It's sort of a BMW and you're going to have a tough time finding rentals in the US that are manuals. That was literally the only manual I could find.
If you're going to have a lot of bags though and you'll need the back seat for people, this wouldn't be a great car. The boot space is horrid. Håber du har en god reise i USA

actually Hertz offers alot of "luxury cars" in their prestige collection.
I have seen Infiniti G35's, M35s FX35's, Cadillac XLR, Cadillac CTS (new body style), BMW 328i's, Mercedes C class, Audi A4, A6 and A4 cabriolet. They also rent ZHZ specialty corvettes that GM made specifically for Hertz. Orange County has alot of the nice "speciality vehicles" it seems I have even seen a new 535i at a FBO in Arkansas that had several hundred miles on it! |
