First G30 Personal Experience...

Context: See Sig

So I got my first up-close and personal experience with G30 - 530 with x-Drive, Luxury Line

Thoughts:
  • Overall I think BMW took what was good about F'10 and made it that much better.
  • I think the exterior is more attractive and the interior is richer too.
  • Sport seats with Dakota were very nice - this is the softest Dakota I've experienced in a BMW. That said, I'd still want Multicontour and Nappa.
  • Felt lighter to drive than my F'10 - don't know if thats because of the 4 pot or the chassis or both?
  • Steering about the same - this was on all season 19's (as is my F'10)
  • Not as powerful as my 535 (duh), but it certainly did not feel under-powered in 4 cylinder guise and the next gen 4pot is probably as smooth as you can make one.
  • Next generation sat/nav/user interface is imo a big step-up from F'10

Overall evolution vs revolution vs F'10. G30 is a beautiful car - anyone acquiring one is lucky indeed!

That said, I don't feel the need to rush-out and trade in my 2016 F'10 for one. I do wish BMW would have taken a few more chances and pushed the change envelope a bit more than they did.Oh and add a full digital cluster for gods sakes as well.

Thanks. It's a great write up. Maybe the lci is a good time for you to change. Will polish up a nice product.

Thanks for this run down on G30 5 Series . I have not had any experience on F10 as to how it drives, how it provides comfort, how it looks when you sit inside and such things but great to see G30 with some tweaks has been a better car overall
