Perspective on several cosmetic repairs - 2016 BMW M3

Hi all, I'm looking to purchase a 2016 BMW M3 but have some reservations on a few cosmetic fixes to the car. The car has 3600 miles so it's still fairly new.

The main repair areas are big paint scratches, bummer dents, wheels and tire rash, and some general swirls.

What are your thoughts on the extent of the fixes? Fixable to be like new? An idea of the cost?

Ideally, I would like to do a full paint correction to bring out the shine of the BSM paint.

Forgot to attach pictures....

First two pictures are of the front bumper. Looks like a scrap and the paint came off.

Second picture is pretty bad curb rash and part of the tires came off. All 4 ZCP wheels would need to be refinished.

Third and fourth pictures are of the rear bumper. Looks like the car was backed into something which made a dent and the parking sensor was pushed into the bumper from the impact.

I've had wheels fixed for 150 each. A decent wheel repair place will be able to make them like new. 200 a wheel max. Takes a couple days.

New front bumper probably 1500 to 2000.

Car looks trashed for only 3600 miles. Sure it wasn't a Performance School car?

Hope it doesn’t need an entirely new front bumper

Nope. That’s what driving in NYC will do.

Paintwork -it can be repaired but at a cost. The rear bumper has impact pockets fitted, I'd want to know these were intact as they can be pricey to replace and this is from experience of a low speed rear impact that my bro had on his 2016 M3.

Wheels - I'd be worried about them being buckled, you won't know this until a refurb shop puts them on their lathe.

I'd perhaps let people know how much this car is costing and whereabouts you are because I think the community could come up with straighter examples

As stated the wheels can be fixed fairly easily. At the very least, both the front and rear bumper covers will need to be partially painted. A talented painter can leave as much original paint as possible and blend the new into the old. Note, this may not be less expensive than a complete repaint but does preserve some of your original paint.

The cost of these things varies so much depending on location, so it's best to get an estimate locally. I'd guess:

Wheels $250 X 4 = $1000
Bumper cover $750 - $1000 X 2 = $1500 - $2000
Full paint correction on car with detail - $750

It does seem the car was not cared for, but if it was daily driven in Manhattan, I can believe it.

GL!

You're looking at $3-4K to make the car cosmetically new again. Is the deal that good that you can't find another car in better condition for a tad bit more?
