Cleaning back of Rims before wheel change
Hello,
So I am planning on putting my summer wheels back on. However, before I do that, I would like to clean them properly (i.e. the back and front of the rims). I was wondering what products you use to clean the back of the rim? Its all really dirty and I don't think simply soap and water will work. I also have a wheel cleaner spray (maguires I believe). But I don't think it would be enough to get all of the black stains out from the inside of the rim. Any recommendations or steps you follow to clean the inside of your rims? |

I used some P21S on my wheels with a brush and it got my winter wheels sparkling clean. I would think some car wash with some scrubbing and they will look fine. If that doesn't work then move onto the Meguiar's wheel cleaner. Then put a coat of wax on them and put them to sleep for the summer.

For the tough stuff you can use Meguires Wheel Brightener diluted 4:1 with water. Spray on, let sit for no longer than 45 seconds, hose off. If brake dust remains, hit it with more cleaner and agitate with a brush, then hose off again.

If you are interested in SONAX let me know. I have it ready to go. It work really well but if you have some caked on brake dust and road crud you will need to do some brushing.
