Does anyone have any idea how long it takes for a car in status
"awaiting carrier assignment" to when it actually gets to the dealership?

Man it's hard to wait.
I am still waiting for them "make room in the production schedule". How did each step that you went through take so far?

Train arrived on 3/27; checked in to the VPC in Oxnard, CA on 3/29; trucking company signed for it on 4/1 (though it hasn't been "checked out" from the VPC); due to arrive at dealer 4/4 (San Diego area).

My X5 went from 'Awaiting Carrier' on a Monday morning to being in my dealers lot by Tuesday afternoon. I'm in the Chicago area, so it came by truck. My dealer was very surprised it was that quick. He said it's typically 5-10 days once it was 'Awaiting Carrier'.

My X7 just went into production today!

So how long are they currently taking to get put on a truck and shipped out?

That's the current status. It entered that status about 20 hours ago. Will it really take a month to get produced and put on a trailer for the trip north?

Sad news that no one from BMW will tell you is ‘yes’. The original X7 I ordered was 4 weeks after it entered production before it showed up at the dealership. That was 2+ weeks after production was completed when it was in quality check status. Communication is terrible. It’s worth it though, I promise.

My x740i took about a 2 weeks from the time it entered the production que till it was on a trailer. My car was showing entering production que for about a week without any movement then overnight it jumped to Quality check and then the next day it went to waiting on carrier. It seems BMW does not always update the system. So there is a good chance your car could be further along in the process than the website is showing.

Mine shows the same since 03/28/19 and has not moved. Called the genius last week and gave them the build number. They said it will be finished on 04/08/19

The question to be asked is not how long did it take from when the dealer took your order but rather how long it took from when the vehicle started production.

A dealer might take your order but not give you an allocation til much later hypothetically. Find out your build week when your order is placed so you know your spot in The global production queue. From when build starts it’s 3-4 weeks til it lands on your dealer lot

From the BMW website under owners ("My Garage").

My X7 was checked in to the Vehicle Processing Center (VPC) on 3/29. It was released to the carrier (trucking company) on 4/1 with an ETA to the dealer of 4/4. As of today it hasn't been signed out of the VPC and the dealers system still showed the ETA of last week.

I went in yesterday to turn in my G12 and told my CA if it arrives this week...great, but I'm not going to take delivery. Headed out of the country for Spring break. Last thing I want to do is bring it home park it and leave town the next day. 😣

I ordered my x740i on Friday the day my dealers new allocations came out.

They said it's would be 6-8 weeks since these allocations were for May and they had 3 people waiting for allocations in front of me.

Most likely looking at June to pickup.
