preformance parts that dont void warranty, help
Hey i recently traded in my dodge charger for a 328i
so now im interested in adding horsepower to my car but im in fear of losing my warranty... i was talking to a co-worker today and he suggested dry-shot nos haha he said a 50shot should be good enough for my cravings and i could easily remove it when time came i'd like to know if anyone knows about any other (affordable preferably) parts i could add to my car to improve the preformance but WONT VOID THE WARRANTY! i checked out dinan.com and couldnt feel more ripped off...any other suggestions?? thanks |

yes. save your money and when u can afford it, trade your 328 in for a 335. You'll gain lots of performance and no loss of warranty.

Driving schools don't void warranty. They do void boredom with your car though.

Agreed. Everything must be BMW certified if you don't want to void your warranty. Dinan stage 3 could work well for you. It's also like 4k with everything. Keep the NOS on your dodge please.
Bottom line... If you worried about your warranty, don't mod! And by the way, affordable and BMW usually don't fit in sentences together. |

there is no aftermarket performance parts that wouldnt void your warranty besides dinan, but like others said, you can save up and get a 335i, or forget about your warranty and mod your car, but honestly i wouldnt do that because for the 328 you will spend a lot and probably not gain much. i'm not sure about the 328 mods but i believe they have exhaust, intake and tune. These 3 will cost you 2500 and your gains are what 35rwhp?

A dealer cannot void a warranty unless there is without a shadow of a doubt the defective part/failure was cause by an aftermarket part. Reading up on the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act will bring you up to speed on your rights. Keep in mind, this is not a "ace up your sleeve", but information you should know in case you are involved in a similar situation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuson-Moss_Warranty_Act

BMW Performance parts or Dinan are going to be about the only real routes to choose from. If nothing else, I would change out the exhaust and intake and enjoy a little more fun.
The 328i can be a fun car just as the 335i when modded properly. Suspension and some new shoes would be worth saving up for too ........ |

+1 If power is your drug, get a 335.

i run a nitrous oxide setup on my 325, its a ton of fun to have work on and play with. also relatively cheap 350 for a nice kit and 75-100hp
refilling does suck but everything has its trade offs, its not nearly as often as people think though would never try it if your looking for parts for a 335 though, turbo+NOx=bad idea unless your pretty experienced and pertaining to the thread, it will most likely void your engine warranty if they catch you |

Only parts that do not void the new car warranty are OEM - BMW Performance.
