I agree with Clarkson on this one point; we'll never see a car like this again. The German horsepower race will continue, and we may still see another 1000hp car from the factory. But you'll never see such a purposefully engineered road car again.
Ah, come to think of it, nevermind. Ferrari'll probably end up coming out with a thinly veiled road car with all it's F1 bits in it to one-up the Bugatti. One thing I found really interesting, Clarkson states each car costs 5.5 million pounds to produce so Bugatti (VW) is loosing a huge amount on each car. But in an interview with some Bugatti mucky mucky I read in one of the car mags, he states that Bugatti will be profitable with the first car (or was it first five ... horrible memory) that rolls off the assembly line? |

I personally love that show ... some of the "personality" stuff gets annoying, but we don't have shows here in the US where they actually TEST cars. They just drive them around sedately and tell us how great they are (even if they suck balls). The shows are extensions of retail magazines which make their money from advertising, aka sponsorship.
But we have to rely on rips of the show on bittorrent to get it, which is fine because over here it wouldn't be broadcast in HD. |

DUDE... THAT is the greatest car show in all the world!!! I love everything about it... everything. My wife thinks I should put together an American version... but I don't know. I think something may get lost in the translation.

Check out the torrents for Best Motoring too, I remember them being pretty fun too. But I mainly stick to Top Gear. The chick and the big dude on Fifth Gear bug the hell out of me. Tiff is the only watchable part. |

I like that show 5th Gear much better then Top Gear. Their review is so much more interesting. That guy who drove the McLaren F1 was hilarious.

I like Tiff, I just don't like the chick or the big oaf. Damn they're irritating. But hamster, captain slow and clarkson are starting to wear thin too. That's what I meant by "personality stuff".
Overall, I like the segments on Top Gear better than Fifth. But I'm a sucker for 70's supercars. |

I find that Top Gear segments is not really informative. They find some weird "tests" to do on a vehicle, or they drive it around the track and keep saying, wow this is the best car ever. Then finally they just let that snake guy drive it, and post the time. In addition, the exchanges between the hosts just gets down right weird most of the time, especially when they jump between the US and UK shows. 5th Gear is more of a traditional car magazine show, which I personally enjoy more.
But that McLaren show, he looked like he nutted in his pants when he accelerated
