OEM RWD MSport Springs on an xDrive MSport car?
i would assume that the springs used on a RWD MSport car with passive suspension are not the same. I want to mildly drop my car, and I think these would be perfect but I want to make sure they would work on my xDrive MSport 428. I was also hoping such a mild drop wouldn't effect the struts too much.
Any ideas? Anyone done this yet? EDIT: IM DESPERATE I'LL PAY SOMEONE 50 BUCKS TO DO THIS LOL

Id like to know as well. My MSport 435 currently looks like a monster truck.

I can't believe no one knows. Maybe one of us will just have to be the first to try.

I would guess the springs would fit, but I think I remember the part #'s are different (likely to the heavier x drive). How much that will affect the car? Not sure. I have a feeling the better thing to do would buy 335x or 435 Dinan springs. |

My feeling on the Dinan is that if they intended it to work on an XDrive car they would have listed it for that, right now they have a set for 435i RWD only, which in and of itself doesn't make sense as it should work on the 428i RWD also. We will probably just have to bite the bullet and get H&R, not that there is anything wrong with them but I don't know if I want to go as low as they go. Atleast as low as I think they go....

My traditional rule of thumb was always to do a mild spring with strut combo or a coilover setup... |

Yeah any aftermarket spring, or any spring that isn't stock for the vehicles options will most likely wear out the strut early. That's probably not a major consideration for people leasing but for those who have purchased their car it might be. Obviously a full coilover set is the best option for lowering but at the price point.... eh...

I looked at the AC Schnitzer units, but they seem to make the car sit uneven. I won't go with HR as they seem to be either too low or a harsh ride...
Will wait for Dinan |

Normally I wouldn't go for Dinan stuff but I think I will hold out for a solution from them too in this case.

Should fit fine. If you look at the model applications for the Eibach and ACS springs then there is typically a given rear spring for a particular bodystyle, regardless of drivetrain. For the front there is a chance that the car would sit a touch lower on the sDrive M-Sport springs than the sDrive, but there appears to be little change in spec otherwise. For example the ACS springs for a 4cyl xDrive are the same as a 6cyl sDrive.
I think the 6 cyl diesel is a touch heavier, so you may want to go for the rear suspension from any MSport F32, but with the front suspension from a 3/430d sDrive. Should be available from your local dealer if you can come up with the part no's. That said, you still won't have done the anti-roll bars, and it will probably work out so expensive that you'd be better just going for a full ACS kit instead.

Sounds like a reasonable OEM+ kind of mod. I see no reason why it wouldn't work but this is my first BMW and shit always seems weird when trying to swap little shit like this.
I'm guessing it's not the price of the springs that's stopping you but the price of installing the springs and finding out they don't swap right in. |

I also think this won't ruin our struts over time like h&r springs will. I'm also hoping the ride won't be bouncy like h&r. It should be OEM+ like you said. I'm very close to just biting the bullet and doing it
