Where do you guys install springs/Coils?
So I've been thinking of getting the KW V3s for my 335xi coupe. I used to have a good viet friend in DC -Troung (off of Bladensburg ...ya pretty ghetto) area install springs for me when I had my G35 coupe. He'd charge 100 for spring install and less for coils as they are easier. Just want to know if anybody does install in the Northern VA area thats trustworthy with our cars?!?!
He used to get me to go to diamond at Eden every once in a while and I'd hook him up w/ drinks |

I retired from doing suspension work...but my friend will do it
200 for springs, 300 for coilovers... Coilovers are much harder to do on a BMW than other cars. Since u gotta re-use the top hat and have to take the whole trunk lining apart. If you want to get it done i can refer u to him... O.T, did you call me that night we were supposed to meet up for the pedals? i didn't get any calls, woke up and saw a voicemail but nobody said anything

When I had springs installed on my CaymanS and then JIC c/o's on my 996tt, I used Funktion Auto by Dulles Airport. Talk to Tim Cobean or Walid (the owner) and tell them Scott from Frederick, MD sent you. Their number is 703-544-0015
Do great work on Euro cars. Walid (pronounced Wah-leeeed) races a Radical at Summit Point. They know suspensions pretty well. |

I used Induction Motorsports right next to BWI airport. They charged $300 to swap springs and shocks so I would think coilovers would be the same price. They did great work, but you have to baby-sit them while your car is there. I dropped mine off on a wednesday night after closing for a thursday appointment (after calling during the day to arrange the after hours drop off) and put my keys in the drop box. I came by thursday to pick it up and the car was never touched, no phone call or anything. Had to wait till friday to finally get it.

I am getting crazy quotes for my H&R Spring installation, and this is just labor costs. I didn't know it was this expensive around here. Anybody have any other recommendations?
- RRT wanted $1100 (includes alignment) - Pro-Imports wanted $445 (includes alignment) - Funktion Auto wanted $744 (includes alignment) Thanks!

Well from what i heard BMW has their own "special alignment" please correct me if im wrong.
I am going to get my alignment done Monday at bmw, but ya alignment is a must! Corner balancing is another issue, i won't be doing that.

Spool, I'm meeting up w/ one of the local forum members on Monday to pick up the springs. When the weather gets warmer out, we can set this up. Way too cold out man.

Hey bav19,
The best quote I got in the area was at Pro Imports in Rockville. They charge $445; $356 for the spring install and $89 for alignment. The alignment price is only good if you get it done w/ the spring install. Any other time they charge $132. G/L

That's not a bad price, if they worked on this car before and know what they're doing. Most shop charge over 400+ for installation alone. If you guys wanna get springs done my friend does it for $200
