The weight distribution is fine. However, this weight could be an issue. Im on the fence about the CF parts, you know they will be big $$$.
Just have to wait for the reviews.

Weight is the obvious shortcoming of the car. We are approaching Camaro ZL1 weight and that car is huge. 2-300 lbs more than my e46 M3 as well. Unfortunately auto makers are just adding more power because it is a lot cheaper than decreasing weight while adhering to stricter safety regulations.

C&D weighed a 2015 M4 with DCT, CF Rood, CC Brakes = 3581lbs
C&D previously weighted a 2010 E92 with DCT, CF Rood = 3600lbs The DCT M2C is heavier than the E92 M3? Something has to be wrong. Side Note: BMW did an incredible job on the M3/M4 weight. The bar was high.

EU spec M2C weighs 1550kg (despite the particulate filter) and US spec weighs 1633kg. 83 kg or 182lbs is a significant difference. I bet most of it comes from the stupid gadgets that are now standard such as forward-collision alert, auto braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning. It's also almost certain that US spec cars will have auto seats instead of manual EU spec seats. I mean how difficult is it to make all these optional? Why do I have to add close 200lbs to my car with all this stuff that I don't want?

I'd assume it's the 788M. The thing I find amusing about this is the 0.1% better weight distribution the M2c has over the M2. That's awesome, now if you'll excuse me I need to go look at used Porsche's. |

So, apples to apples (and using only BMW's official U.S. specs), the M2C weighs 150 lbs. more than the M2 LCI, has a 1 percent worse (to the front) weight distribution, a slightly higher Cx (.35 vs. .36-.38) and (estimated) same 0-60 for manual and DCT (LCI quoted 0-60 mph of 4.3/4.1 and M2C 0-100 kmh of 4.4/4.2). The price difference, if the number that's been copied all over the place is correct, is $5,400 more ($53,500 to $58,900 - using beginning of model year pricing, which is the only fair way to compare.

There's definitely a missing link. Perhaps the European number doesn't include any fluids.

Patiently waiting for the ensuing threads on how to lighten your M2c by removing all the pedestrian safety system BS. I will be doing this if possible. I've got my tool set and ECU programmers, just need the DIY.

What's missing is people refusing to believe the truth. BMW would not have put those weights out there unless they were true, because they know every tester is going to pound (get it?) them for it.
