In contrast, Going from the X5 to the "flagship" X7, you get the exact same cockpit design. Same dash. Same shifter console. Even the same crystal shifter knob availability. And an additional 0.2 inches of 2nd row legroom, which is the smallest of all the 2nd row legrooms on the jumbo SUV market. Zero... Point... Two... Inches... |

Again, to repost something I posted elsewhere. 2nd row legrooms of full/jumbo sized SUV's, ranked smallest to largest.
BMW X7: 37.6 inches Land Rover: 37.6 inches Mercedes GLS: 38.5 inches Dodge Durango: 38.6 inches Audi Q7: 38.8 inches Cadillac Escalade: 39.0 inches Chevy Tahoe: 39.0 inches GMC Yukon: 39.0 inches GMC Yukon XL: 39.7 inches Chevy Suburban: 39.7 inches Toyota Sequoia: 40.9 inches Bentley Bentayga: 40.9 inches Infiniti QX80: 41.0 inches Ford Expedition: 41.5 inches Lincoln Navigator: 42.3 inches The new, bigger, BMW X7, has the smallest 2nd row legroom of all of them! |

V6 is not available. only inline 6 and V8.
Harmon Kardon is bundled with Premium Package and there is Bowers and Wilkins option. I talked to the BMW rep today at the car show, they said for the US Market the Lasers are not much improvement over the LED, but do look better. |

If you only want 2 rows maybe an X5 or something from the competition is better

I found it quite odd that heated front seats are not included standard and its a $1200 charge to get them
Thats a lot of money for an SUV but its in line with every other large elephant on the road today. and 37.6" of rear legroom is plenty. how much do you really need? Airlines give you 10" less

Well, I'm actually a bit surprised by this car. I don't think there is a large enough performance difference to justify the 8cyl but a 6 would be too small for this mammoth. 0-60 5.8 seconds? Come on, BMW... you should be able to get that one at 5.2 and the 8cyl at high fours. I'm gonna drive it to make my final judgement but it doesn't look very good right now for us to get this as a family car... a slight but underpowered (and a tiny bit overpriced imho)

And that's the point. The X7 is not a 7-series level SUV. BMW has made the X7 as an X5 with a bigger 3rd row.

As for those saying you don't need anything more than 3 feet legroom in the 2nd row, why would BMW make their flagship 7er sedan with a luxurious 44.4 inches?
(and seriously? We're going to discuss economy airline seats as the standard for luxury vehicles?) Last edited by Wild Blue; 11-30-2018 at 09:21 AM.. |

While I hear other people complaints, mine is with the way to configure the vehicle. I like AW Bimmers, so when I pick AW and M-sport it looks horrible from the side, but without the Msport, too much chrome :

Also, who wants to get this vehicle with performance tires ... the all-season should be standard ... soccer moms will not track this vehicle
These are my negatives... from the positives side, it look surprisingly very attractive (aside from the small things Mentioned before) |
