run flats vs. non run flats
My MB GL came with 20" run flats which I thought was fine. But when I replaced them with non run flats 3 years later, the car felt much, much more comfortable, less noise etc. The car felt completely difference in a good way.
I know most BMWs come standard with run flats but looks like I can order the X7 with non run flats with a spare. Also, snow/ice performance was terrible on the run flats compared to the non run flats. Is there any reason to stay with run flats if I'm not concerned with the occasional flat tire change? I love the look of the 22" rims but not practical for snow driving for skiing. |

I ordered the 22's with space saver spare. When it's time for winter I'm just going to change all the tires over to a nice set of all season non run flat. Hopefully they'll be tires available when the time comes because no one even makes a 315/35R22 for the rears. So hopefully it'll be Easier than buying new wheels and snow tires then storing them and transporting them to tire shop to swap ,waiting and then doing it all over again. Did it with my F15, had to buy a kit from Continental with flat repair kit with compressor to keep in the car because there was no room for a spare with 3rd row. So much easier not to deal with winters and a better ride on the 20's I have now.

Don't think I'll need snows this year seeing that I won't get the car until March but hopefully by next season there will be some options. 4 choices in 22" on the G07 and maybe 1 or 2 choices on the G05, hopefully equals a new market for tires. If not, I'm reluctantly buying new winter wheels and tires. Gotta have those 22" 755M's though

As I previewed in some of my X5 videos, the new X5 is equipped with an optional Luggage Compartment package which will lower the trunk cover into the load compartment floor with the push of a button. The same package also includes some rubber anti-slip rails on the cargo floor which inflate when the car is in motion to keep the luggage from sliding around. This video review of the X5 shows how it works. |

Any suggestions what brand, model and exact tire size in "non rft" is best to replace the stock 21" A/S rft tires that came on a X7 M50i

This is what my X7 came with. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...tandard%20Tire
I'm very pleased with their performance as well as the smooth and quiet ride. I will be replacing them with the same tires here soon. I have 29K miles on them now and have another few thousand miles left before they need to be replaced. |

Unless something else comes out in the next few years, I suspect I will also replace them with the same when it comes time to replace them. Good thing is costco carries Bridgestone tires, so I can get these replaced at costco. |
