Auto Start Stop Button Missing/Removed
Hi
Just taken delivery of my new G30 and the button to disable the Auto Start Stop function is missing. (normally just under the start engine button) .Im sure the one I test drove still had the button but could be wrong. Have BMW removed this? I understand there is no way of disabling this permanently without coding but can you not even disable it for a single journey now? |

Car can shut off the engine also during the driving, when you lift off the throttle (coasting mode). You can work around this "issue" by driving in Sport Individual mode, where you set up everything in Comfort. That should do the trick. |

It does as Auto Start/Stop is just about turning off the ICE engine in the car. Of course, for the 530e it doesn't feel jarring or annoying as the Electric Motor kicks in when the ICE is off and the car is still great to drive.

But the feature worked in the following manner: If "Hold" was tuned on the engine would turn off once you've reached a stop and wouldn't resume until either you pressed the Brake again to disengage Hold or you pressed the accelerator. Either way, you'd have no "creep" in this scenario. If "Hold" was turned off the engine would turn off once you're reached a stop and would'n resume until you took your foot off the brake. It would be already started before you hit the accelerator so you wouldn't have the jerky start that makes it a bit less pleasant. In this scenario you would have "creep" as you'd expect. I imagine BMW's implementation works similar to this. But the 530e does have this since the engine is shutoff. BMW lists this as a feature of the model as well for MY2020 and it is covered in my manual. https://www.bmwusa.com/vehicles/5-se...es.html#!/530e |
