Is the display supposed to be full color on non-CWP X7s? I'm not sure, maybe someone else can confirm that.

Edit: I just looked at a Youtube video (Doug Demuro's review of the X7 from 2019), his review unit had CWP and the second row display is non-color (at 13:20). So I don't think the 2nd row ever gets a color display on any X7.

Edit 2: the G07 technical info document (one of the pinned posts on this forum) also shows a black-and-white front display on page 17.

This is that the X7 I just traded in had. Might sound stupid, but that's the deletion which bothers me the most.

Harman Kardon sound mainly.

Also it cost me ~$4k in total.

Removed:

• 22" wheels
• Executive package (led sunroof is a gimmick and I never used heated/cooled cup holders)
• iDrive Controller touchpad (delete in new build, never used it anyways)

Added:

• HK sound
• Glass controls (still wanted those from executive package)
• WiFi Hotspot (delete in original build)
• Wireless Charging (delete in original build)

Additionally dealer added around $700 worth of factory accessories (mainly all weather mats, first aid kit, license frame, etc).

In total I ended up with a car which was about $350 less in MSRP (includes the $700 in accessories, otherwise closer to $1100 difference).

I had just under 6k miles on the original X7.

I see. You must be in a state without or has very low sales taxes. California sales taxes are mostly over 10% and trading cars within such a short timeframe means all sales taxes paid are lost. On this 40i car it'd have been close to 10k.

Glad you finally got the HK and wireless charging you want. For me those would have been deal breakers in the first place.

I’m in a state with 6.25% sales tax on vehicles (TX). However you don’t pay sales tax again on the trade-in value. So I only ended up paying an additional $260 or so in sales tax on the second vehicle.

That's nice. Not having to pay taxes on the trade-in makes a huge difference! We don't get that in CA.

Are you still able to set the fan speed on driver side and passenger side independently? Does the screen show the fan speeds on each side? The color screen showed two fan settings, one for each side, whereas the BMW cars with B/W for climate in the front only show one fan setting. Wonder if they did a new B/W screen, or maybe this was further decontented to allow only one fan setting up front.

I am pretty sure ALL G07 X7's have second row black and white displays during the day that turn orange at night.

Seems the same functionality just black and white (orange at night). Here is a picture if it helps.

• Crystal deletion from volume knob
• Removal of touchpad capability from top of iDrive rotary control knob
• 3rd row black plastic trim that does not match 1st and 2nd row
• Change of retractable sunroof cover material from alcantara leather to cloth

That being said, I did actually get the following items on my xDrive40i which I ordered:

• Harman Kardon Sound System (What a difference vs base!)
• Wireless phone charger & Wi-Fi HotSpot
• Apple Car Play
• Android Audio
• Privacy Glass (pretty sure it's standard on X7)
• Luxury Seating Package
• Dashboard touchscreen
• iDrive internal hard disk storage drive (I can jump forward and backwards on SiriusXM, so I assume it's there)
• Gesture Control (I disabled it, can't stand it)
• Display Key

This is consistent with what I've seen at my dealership and seen on my pending X7 order.

Can anyone else confirm that new builds (5/1/2022 and later) are, in fact, getting the iDrive dash touchscreen? Deleting that may be a deal killer for me.

The other thing I noticed is option 417 electric rear shade. It's on my order sheet as part of the Executive package, but when I go to MyGarage it shows "rear manual sun shade". Has anyone experienced the same before?

Just checked, mine shows "manual" in mygarage. Spec sheet from dealer shows rear electric side window shades, under exec package.

2022 X7 M50 - electric shades are standard on the M50. Week 20 build (already built last week) and week 21 build (in a few days) both show manual shades in My Garage. The F12 trick does show option 417 for both of them.

Maybe a typo in the BMW website?

I'm not taking delivery of the week 20 build; once the week 21 build gets built (scheduled for this Thursday, May 26) I'll ask my CA for a copy of the vehicle inquiry report to see what it actually got built with.

this has been discussed in other threads but apparently it always says "manual" shades, but the X7 has never had anything except the motorized ones. some kind of glitch in the system. but i wouldn't be that surprised if they turn them into manual as part of these ongoing deletions, so definitely check for that when your car arrives

That's standard config, but you can code those on.
