very sick my body.

G20 has only matt gear panel.
Can change using 8er or X5~X7 parts.
but... If you want firmware update, not easy.
Using esys flashing or after replacing with matte gear panel to flashing.
Gloss gear panel replacement is your choice...
If you change 8er glass gear panel, can use adaptive mode.

Hi

Do you have the installation instructions in english ? I have a M performance replacement kit for the gear shift (OEM) but I'm a bit scared about need of coding after changing the piece or unplug the battery .
Any problem on your side , is the "crystal " kit an OEM ?
Thanks

I have OEM M performance and OEM Crystal gear shift.
For crystal one you need coding, because of light inside the shifter.
On M performace one you don't need to code. It is not illuminated.

When you change gear shifter you MUST to unplug the battery, to not burn shifter's ribbon cable. On that ribbon cable you have 12V.
I had this problem, so i need to change whole unit (you cannot buy ribbon cable separate!).
If you disconnect the battery is nothing wrong, even time and date will set automatically

thanks a lot for the info.
Space behind the knob is pretty tight , would you recommend to remove the whole console unit to make the change ? If you disconnect the console unit from the car do you still need to unplug battery ?
Some people mentionned problems with the P buttom after the change , no problem for you ? May be they damaged the ribbon because they indicated that the former knob didn't work anymore .

You don't need to remove whole console.
Yes, problems with P are because they damaged ribbon cable.
When you want to unscrew the bolt you will touch the ribbon with screwdriver and you make short circuit. Because of that ribbon cable burns.
When you disconnect battery, you don't have power on ribbon cable, so no problems
Even on BMW service manual is written to disconnect the battery.
