Its a beautiful day out here and I started my x7, after driving for a minute or so, the drivetrain error popped up and the car started to wobble (like high vibration) and drive like I was driving on the lowest gear and at the same time accelerating it. The drive was somewhat rough and I was really worried the vehicle may stop at an intersection or somewhere in the middle of the road.
I returned back home as it was already past 6:00PM and nearest BMW dealer service center was closed. Anyone experienced the same ? What is the outcome ? I am really frustrated with all of this. In the one 1.5 months we had this vehicle , numerous error codes, liftgate issues and now this. On top of it, I had spent closer to 6k on PPF, ceramic coating and other stuff. Making me highly frustrated!!! |

From your description it sounds like it dropped a cylinder. You may have a bad coil pack. Please let us know what the dealer says.
There was a thread with an owner that was waiting weeks for a couple of coil packs to come in. Not sure how they made out as they did not update the post. That was a 2023 40i also On the new B58 engine it received new coil packs. I wonder if they are going to start having issues with those now… Let us know. |

The entire vehicle is vibrating and the gear is not changing …. Engine RPM goes to 3500-4000 just at 15-20 mph speeds Sigh!! |

Does it idle rough? Or if you rev it in park or hold the pedal at about 2000 rpm. Is it smooth? Could rule out the engine if there is no vibration in park. Either way…This sucks. For sure. |

From the small percentage of 2023 X7’s out there and an even a smaller precent are of those owners on this forming this news is not great… Setllarboss let us know how you make out. I assume it was just an error and no drivability issues? Or did it have issues? I think your first error made the car useless correct? But then it restarted and error was gone? Mind you, my original issues are still not resolved. We had a service appt for this Monday to get the steering wheel pulling issue and error codes that have returned on adaptive cruise control and forward collision warnings. They could not replicate the lift gate error (lift gate wouldn't open on some random occasions). So, thats there still and maybe for some other day!! Sigh!! |

There is a limit on the number of times a consumer must allow the manufacturer to repair the car and the amount of time the car can be out of service. If during the covered period, the manufacturer fails to successfully repair the defect after four attempts, or the car is out of service by reason of repair for a cumulative total of 30 or more calendar days, the manufacturer must accept return of the car or replace the car with a new car. i would avoid mentioning lemon law. i would bring up trade assist if you start getting close to the lemon law threshold. do note that some options are not available now-- if you have dhp or IAS, thats no longer avail on the 40i

the last thing they want is for the car to be lemoned. if it goes to the trade assist route, you can see if they will negotiate for things like ppf and such.

Unfortunately, BMW isn't the only one that has issues. ALL of them do. I would be willing to bet that you will see similar complaints from all of the expensive manufactures. I'm guessing if you go on any other comparably expensive SUV forum for any expensive vehicle you will see similar, if not more, complaints about that manufactures woes.
