My SA said bmw is requesting that all monitors are ready before I get the car back

Even the Forman took the car home

Sorry 4 your troubles. Main reason I leased them instead of owning. In my old age, I prefer peace of mind and the moment smthg goes wrong, back to the dealership and they gv me another bmw until mine is fixed. These things are very expensive to fix and the more tech they incorporate into them it’s going to get worse. The fancy cameras, driver assist is nice but once they start having issues, our brand loyalty goes up in smoke.

I like the brand but am not loyal. I’m considering leasing the new X5 that my dealer told me yesterday that they will take orders for in April 2023.

Hope you get your issue resolved. My third option is to buy out my X7 lease but stories like yours make me nervous. To each their own……and I prefer peace of mind and am willing to pay more for it. Good luck friend.

My 23 LCI X7 4.0 has been in the shop for over two weeks for a Lower radiator blind issue that BMW requested a STAR case on it, the car only have 1500 miles... the engine light came on when it was 1000 miles... ( I only drive this car 500 miles a month)

First I took it to PeterPan BMW in Burlingame CA, ( I had at least 5 BMW serviced with them over the last 10 years), The SA I had retired ,met a new SA... the NEW SA and dealership try to pull a quick one on faking that the lower blind has a rock in it blocking it from opening and closing want to charge me out of warranty fee 500 dollars to take the rock out ( I told them its total BS the car is only had 900 miles and bmw design something that a rock will get in and block it, like that easily?) I refused , ask them to just clear the check engine light do not repair it.

Took the car home, took apart the bumper, the radiator blind ... EVERY THING... guess what NO ROCK!!!!!... Drove the car for another 200 miles check engine light came on again, this time I scanned the code using MHD, code came out to be lower blind out of sync for a HALL sensor error.

Took it to BMW of San Francisco and the car has been with them for 2 weeks, no news from BMW corporate with the case,, I am paying for a 100k+ X7 but driving a cheap loaner...

Peterpan BMW will lose me as a customer for EVER and I will keep telling every body how shady they are, BMW is on the verge of losing me as a loyal customer too if they can't get my car fix by next monday.

Mine check engine light is on again for the 4th time

1st no explanation
2nd time they said it was a loose gas cap
3rd they said I topped off the gas and charcoal filter was full of fuel which is complete BS and wanted to charge me to fix the problem. Ended up keeping the car for 3 weeks fixed it under warranty

And this is the 4th time this mornjng. I picked up the car 2 days ago. This 2023 is total garbage stay away everyone

Sounds like you need to lemon law it and get your money back, or talk with BMW about having them take back your defective car and put you into a brand new X7 at their expense (I think it's called "trade assist"?).

Only a small percentage of '23s are having these sorts of issues, the vast majority are operating properly. Assuming that you like the car aside from the drivetrain issues, if I were in your shoes, I personally would try to get BMW to replace it with a new X7.

If you do decide to stay with the BMW brand, you should probably find another dealership to work with. Your current dealer obviously isn't very good.

Good luck.

I think you need to look into the lemon laws of your state. This link explains the lemon laws for each state:

Sucks you are going through it. Did the dealer initiate the request for trade assist or collateral swap? I have had 2 trade assists and 1 collateral swap done but all from the help of the dealer submitting the request. Most recently was on the X5 45e. Talking to BMW directly gets no where. Dealer has to do it.

On the thread about the BBB, Years ago on my 2nd BMW I had bought a CPO unit and researched the features on their website which was subsequently incorrect. BMW Corp would not give me time of day until I had the office of consumer affairs send them a letter. When that happened my phone would not stop ringing from BMW. Granted the dealer at the time took care of it via their goodwill, BMW subsequently offered me some BMW credits I could use later.

Nothing is worst than spending money to have your experience ruined. Good luck to you.

Got my 2023 X7M60 in September, had to return it to the shop after 3 days (driving assistance failure, automatic break failure, 5 or 6 other things). It sat in the shop for 3 months (!) as they continued to wait for and swap parts. Got it back in December and about a week ago it had a complete system failure - undrivable (steering failure, 4WD failure, 14 or so other error messages). These came on while driving and it was hazardous. Completely lost confidence in the brand. This one is going back, not sure what to get now.

Honestly I’d push for BMW to make it right via free upgrade to a ‘24 M60i
