I got around to playing with eControl and all that and the net of it is, even in eControl the engine will turn off and even drive the car on EV if you are very light on the throttle. Best thing is to just put the power train in Sport or Sport Plus and the engine will never turn off.

Figures bmw would sell a $600 charger that’s not much better

Haha! I do Hybrid, Sport and D2 at the moment. May change that when the summer tires are put on in the next few weeks

Question for you. People keep saying they only made 500 of the XM label… I’m confused as I saw a few just at my local dealer. And why doesn’t my car say 1/500 on the dash? Mine also doesn’t have the red around the grilles and diffuser? Did they only make 500 that have the red on the front and rear? Or 500 total of the XM label that are frozen black w red? I’m confused.

BMW Were initially releasing XM label red before changing to XM label. The XM label red was supposed to be 1/500, frozen carbon black with red trim, grille, and diffuser accents. Yours and mine are just XM labels.

So the only difference between ours and that is the grille and diffuser red accent? I can’t find anything else. Mine is frozen black with red trim everywhere accept the front and back. I actually don’t mind the grille and diffuser red, I was thinking to wrap the red door panel in black and leave the red XM piece that’s above the charger lid. Not sure yet.

Essentially yes, but Our frozen black is not frozen carbon black and they get a 1/500 badge also.

And our car doesn’t come with any special exhaust? I would have expected M perf exhaust for example.. is it any different than the XM base?

Funny, bmw tried to offer me $0 down $1675 a month on a base XM today but not the best color.. they showed me 30K off plus $9900 credit, now that’s a great deal but I like the label too much..

Just drop a tune in it and go, granted you lose some accents but in terms of performance you will have it, both the label and base tune the same way

I already leased the XM label… I was just saying a different dealer sent this to me after I got mine, and I hate thinking I could have had a better deal BUT it’s a 2023 and not the color I wanted. I got the frozen black I wanted, XM label etc. plus the interior is way better in my opinion.

Ohh got it, sounds like a good choice, not a better deal if not what you want..

There’s no “valet” key with the XM key right? For example, my M8 has the key to lock my glove compartment and I take that out when giving the key to valet, I see a little button but I assume that’s for the battery.

There is Valet key. Need to press that little button to open up the key in half, then metal key is in there.
If you don't use the keyfob (just app key), just put that key in the glove box inside a plastic case and grab when needed. Since taking it apart is a bitch. Especially if you have key case like me.

I would just give them the keycard if I were to valet which is never! I haven’t touched my physical key since driving home the first day.

Card can work without keys but only works by touching handle to unlock door and placing in phone charging area. Not based on proximity like phone or keys. I keep mine in my car in case I need to use it. I hide it so it isn’t easily found by anyone!
