That is an insane amount of vehicles affected and also clarifies it is not just the M60i, but also the M50i/equivalents. Not sure what is shared across all the V8's across all models and both pre-LCI and LCI but that's very interesting.

Posted this on the X5 forum, but it may be emissions related. Looking at the network trace on the recall site, it says: defectCode: "STOP025416" defectCodeDescription: "F95 F96 G05 G06 G07 G09 G70 - VALVETRONIC" recallType: "Emission" I'm hoping it's just a software update that doesn't affect performance/reliability. |

I just got a letter in the mail about a recall around something brake related. It seemed they didn’t have a fix yet. My car goes in for its two year service in July.

I had my car stopped in middle of motion. Break was locked. The vehicle didn’t start up for hours. After about 2 hours, suddenly it started but I didn’t want to take the risk of driving so the car was towed to a service center. The tech advisor told next day there is a recall forces stop sale and my car has been re-programmed with the updated software. The cause of the recall is DME calibration error. An engineer is going to test drive today and update me the result.
The brake recall communicated via the mail is nothing to do with this stop sale. It’s a separate issue and they don’t have remedy. |
