Seems BMW is accepting a miss...XM (non-Label) may be cancelled...

From Future BMW model information:

G09 XM (non-Label) will likely end production in 07/25.

If this does end up happening, I wonder if they will lower the MSRP of the Label...

If it's like the M8, perhaps there will be an adjustment and upcontenting. There is alot of profit in the XM as it's a parts bin. To go from the base to label powertain tune costs bmw nothing. Outside of that there aren't any real changes between the two.

Also the SUV high end market is hot and everything is getting more power.

I've always thought BMW should have had this a one trim high spec vehicle, instead of multiple versions. But being parts bin there was no way that would happen.

Agree.
But, they have had plan for 50e for European market.
Since it didn’t sell well, should’ve released it in the US, maybe it will boost the Base and Label. Like they do on the other line up.

That’s what they get for not making an i8 successor with the XM Label drivetrain instead.

Trying to follow trends instead of the set them..

Probably would’ve sold the same amount or more than the XM.

Engine and drivetrain development...

I think BMW took on the XM as a test bed to develop the next generation (ICE to EV bridge) M powerplant...

BMW saw that the path to EV was inevitable (albeit politically accelerated) and decided that a leap to full EV would be too much -- they needed something in between -- hence, the development of this plug-in M platform...

If the XM was a huge success, that would be gravy...

Now, if the M5 sales crater, they will have totally miscalculated the trajectory...

My sense is that, with climate-related pressure (especially outside the US) and the changing customer demographic (i.e., less worried about weight), BMW will do just fine...

The base US spec is rumored to be.. but the difference between the base and label is computer tuning. So....

Other places have the 50e
