We have seen no incentives from BMW for stop sale vehicles.

Does anyone know if the parts for the stop sale were received last week? Is the software still on schedule for its release this week?

Is anybody else’s vehicle still at the factory? Mine remains stuck in quality control since the second week of August. I had my dealership order me another one, but the build date isn’t until the 2nd week of October. On the G05 forum, it seems like people are finally getting the fix and taking delivery. I would’ve thought they’d take care of the ones at the factory first, but I guess not.

I would be surprised if they weren't prioritizing new sales revenue.

There are a bunch of cars stuck at the VPC in Maryland for sure, for over a month now.

Late to the parade. I have a 2023 with 8,500 miles. I had my two year service I last month and was told about the recall and my dealer ordered parts, and I had the car back in two days. In fact, the delay was for a new rear seat heater. They had the recall parts ordered when I scheduled the appointment. I think this is the same thing right (pictured below)? It didn’t seem difficult for them to get parts last month.

Check the attachment from my service records. This is the same recall right? Baffling people are waiting weeks?

Have you checked to make sure you aren't still subject to the recall? The part used is part of the return bulletin.

As an aside, the parts for the recall aren't available as they are being used for the stop sale vehicles.

Oh yeah I see that now. I’ll ask my SA. Weird they’d replace it last month with that part.

Almost all vehicles that were repaired under the original recall will have to be repaired again. You can check MyGarage, BMW's or the NHTSA's recall site and it may show there.

It does. I’ve emailed my SA. I read this entire thread, and I’m still so confused.

What are you confused about?

Here is quick rundown of what happened in case that helps. Back in February BMW issued a recall for the IBS for various models but between 22 and October of 23. At the time the issue was believed to be over-torquing of the shipping pigs. In early August they expanded the recall to include vehicles from October 23 though July 24 and then included some early August vehicles. It turns out the problem was with a circuit board that is inside the IBS. Given that, those who had their vehicle repaired with a part from that supplier will need to have it done again.

Somehow I missed the circuit board part. Thanks for sharing.

They only tracked the root cause down last month and it has not been widely published. A Continental plant in Hungary didn't follow clean room protocols and left smudges and dirt on the circuitboard.

so it wasn't the shipping plugs and the metallic debris they were originally checking for? so all the tested stock that they did needs to be replaced?

Evidently not and all torque testing has been removed from the SIB. Looks like all parts from Continental will need to be replaced since what they were checking for was not the issue.

So my new 5 series BMW has been at the port in NJ since early August, and now I've learned that the problem is not only the power brake system, but also the steering spindle. Does anyone know something about the latter problem? Is it a multi-year problem, or only on the 2025 model(s)?

Very few (982) vehicles are affected by the steering recall. For the 5-Series the production dates included are June 17th - July 18th 2024 for 632 vehicles.

Looking at the brighter side, I'm happy they have found the problem before I start driving the car -- whenever I get it. It has been a long time. .
Believe it or not, though, I feel sympathy for the dealerships, whose sales must be hurting terribly because of all of these problems.

I am trying to get out of my 2023 X7 lease by either transferring the lease to another individual or selling to a dealer. The AC on this SUV is so horrendous I can't deal with it anymore. Many dealers are refusing to take my X7 because there is a stop sale on it.

BMW is refusing to do this recall on my car because it's "not available". Was just at a dealership last week. I ultimately can't sell this car because of this recall and I am getting royally screwed.

Does anybody know if I have any legal recourse on this? I have already escalated this to BMW corporate and they are refusing to do anything. TIA.

No, you have no legal recourse since they are following the lease contract. Obviously you can always try suing but not worth the money. Just keep on BMWNA and have your case escalated. They have supposedly allocated parts to a few who have bugged them enough. The vehicle was fixed and then can be dealt with as normal.

Edit: I looked around and the person that posted that he was getting the part for his situation has deleted the posts. He was a real ass so it could be he was lying about that. I would continue to have your case escalated through BMWNA though, as if they can have a part allocated to yours. Since the stop sale is coming to an end hopefully they can get a part for you. You also may want to see if your dealer can try and push things. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
