Road noise after rotation at 6 k miles
anyone experienced a significant increase in road noise after rotations. 4x 21 stock tires non run flat. car was fairly quiet before BMW rotation now noise is very noticeable. my f150 is quieter. very annoying. any thoughts? 2024 X7 40i 6200 miles. tom

Which tire brand are they and model (ie Continental PremiumContact 6 SSR or Pirelli P Zero All Season as examples)? Are the tires directional? If they are and were mounted on the wrong side, they could make noise.

BMW doesnt (or didnt) recommended rotation due to this occurring; tires tend to develop wear patterns specific to their position.
for example, bmws tend to wear the inside edge of the rear tires more. depending on the tread pattern, this can cause road noise when moved upfront. moving them can cause road noise until the tire wears down enough in their new position to lessen the old wear pattern. if it doesnt, there might be an alignment issue that has caused a more pronounced wear pattern.
