Exclamation 2025 BMW XM Steering Issue on Uneven Roads – Anyone Else Facing This?"

I just purchased a new 2025 BMW XM (not the Label Red) on Dec 2024, and I’ve driven it for 1,500 miles already. However, I’ve been experiencing an issue where the car keeps aggressively pulling the steering wheel with strong force. I’m sure this isn’t part of the assisted driving system’s behavior, and I’ve already turned off all steering assist options. This mostly happens on uneven road surfaces. I understand some feedback of road might be transmitted to the steering wheel, but it shouldn’t be this forceful. Has anyone else experienced the same issue?

No, that isn’t normal. I have a 2025 base as well, even on horrible roads I can take my hands off the wheel and it tracks pretty straight. Definitely take to service.

Have you completely turned off the steering intervention/lane keep assist and collision avoidance as a troubleshot.

If your not in your lane and or riding the edge.If on the system will sense your drifting and will automatically correct and put you in the lane, if the road is rough and or the lines are funk it may sig zag within the lane or ride the edge.

Depending upon settings this can be agressive yank of the wheel to say in lane, also down to minor vibration if you select it.

Also are you driving with self driving on?

Any system warnings? Funky things in the road

If not take it to the dealership and have them check it out. Could be a minor but it's under warranty.

Let us know the outcome

Interesting. I don't have an XM but I do own an X5MCOMP LCI and it did the EXACT same thing a few weeks back, twice, on the exact same road. It aggressively took me towards the right while I struggled to put it back, but I assumed it was because of the road. I thought I was going crazy ..

I’ve had this with several cars where two roads merge together, and the car Doesn’t seem to know what lane I’m really in. And then the car gets a little Squirrley. Nothing too crazy though, but you definitely notice it.
