X7 MY24 steering wheel

Hey guys,

Quick question on steering wheels for the X7 M60i.

I have a MY24 X7 M60i (bought used) and it came with the steering wheel shown in the first pic. Previously I had a MY24 X5 50e, which had the other M steering wheel (second pic).

What’s confusing me is:

I assumed maybe there was some production cutoff/change between model years
But I’ve seen MY23 X7s with the same wheel I had in my MY24 X5

So now I am wondering - did someone swap the wheel on my X7, or were there actually multiple steering wheel options/variations for the M60i around that time?

I definitely prefer the other wheel, so just trying to figure out what’s going on here.

Thanks

My understanding is that the 40i had the second pic steering wheel, and the m60i had the first pic one. My 23 X7 M60i came with the first picture steering wheel when I ordered new, and my 21 X7 40i came with the second picture one. Hope this helps!

Both are correct for the M50/M60. BMW can be funny with their parts bin and availability in what gets used on that day but both are correct.

The MY26 X7M60i I've had for a couple of weeks has the same steering wheel as your MY24. My wife's MY25 X5 50e with the M-Sport package has the same wheel as your X5's. I naively thought the M60i wheel was the reason the M60i was over $25K more than the 40i

Thanks for the link. The first thing I noticed when my M60i was delivered was the tri-colored M threads. I didn't see the gap.
