I read the article and in another one Ralf Schumacher doubts that Mattia will even be back after the summer break, it has certainly got past my jokes about the spaghetti and vino.
It is known that Bino is powerful there not just the team manager but surely there must be another 'Dino' at Maranello to say something.

Feel bad for LEC. With the issues that RB have had this year, both championships could be a lot closer at this point of the season.

However, it's RB's and VER's to lose now and I don't see that happening.

BTW, why did Crusty the Clown go to the motor home towards the end of the race? Did he need a bump to settle his nerves??

I sense Mattia may be at disagreements with Maranello itself about things which will go a way to explaining what has happened at Hungary, there's little else to think of.

Post-Race Thoughts:

1) Red Bull and Mercedes continue to prove that they're in a different tier of management/operations/excellence from the rest of the grid - including Ferrari
2) Verstappen and Hamilton continue to prove that they're in a different tier of driver skill from the rest of the grid
3) My heart aches for Charles and he's giving the impression that he's out of gas or giving up. Even listening to his radio - it's almost like he was an abused child afraid to tell his engineer what a stupid decision going on hards was. He deserves better but someone needs to light a fire under his ass and he needs to take charge of that team. Schumacher, Kimi, Lauda etc. were successful because they didn't let those morons decide their fate. I don't want to see him end up like David Coulthard. Being nice doesn't win championships.
4) Mercedes did WAY better than I would have ever anticipated but the gap from the front will be more obvious as we get to Spa, Zandvoort and Monza. They're not quite there yet but definitely improving.
5) Mercedes will probably beat Ferrari in constructors.... let that sink in.
6) Hungarian GP was way better with the new cars.
7) Ocon is still an asshole
8) Fernando signing to Aston behind Otmar's back is lovely and Alpine doesn't deserve anything more than that
9) Max has surpassed Jackie Stewart and is 3 wins away from matching Mansell and 4 wins from matching Alonso in all-time GP wins. INSANE.
10) I read that Ferrari doesn't want to hand over a blank check to Hannah Schmitz because she has a "lesser" degree in something stupid like engineering. You need at least a Masters degree from Clown College in order to work for Ferrari.
11) I only added #11 because I love Checo.

Ferrari's getting spanked regularly by 911s, R8s, Huracans, AMGs outside of F1.

Did you miss 2021?

No one is close to Senna, especially during the Senna-Prost war. Max is right up there with the others though. Being aggressive in these down force boats is different than the cars they used to drive.

Not saying Hamilton isn't a good driver, but I do think Max proved last season and even more so now that without the fastest car he is winning. He simply does more with less and the tangential areas of racing; tire management, wet driving, knowing when and where to put times in, are all super elite. When Max's trophies and records surpass Hamilton's (and in some cases already have) it will be awesome to know we saw a once in a multi-generation talent.
Hamilton's previous car was so far and above anyone else's it was almost impossible not to win. Matter of fact, Rus' go in his car with no seat time nearly resulted in a win. Just imagine what Max would have done in that MB - surely would put my money on Max if they were teammates but Ham has a clause to deny Max a seat on MB (when we all know MB wanted him badly) since he's threatened by his talent.

Don' forget MB getting their asses handed to them in pretty much every other form of racing too. MB generally isn't a constructor I'd ever think could do much...except when they develop an engine 5 years ahead of everyone and get it approved for use. Hopefully Porsche obtains that same advantage and spanks them in F1.

To be fair, the AMG (Alongside the Audi R8) have been two of the most dominant GT3 cars for a whiiiiile.

Porsche's overall racing dominance is untouchable though.

Who would replace Mattia?

B8 will remove the Spainard Iñaki Rueda and replace him with an outsider for 2023.

Ravin Jain - the head of operational strategy development - is the programmer and mathematician creating recommended options and scenarios. Extreme Intelligence without the racing mind.

Iñaki makes the final call and seems reluctant to disagree with the Ravin computer.

B8 does not get involved in strategy, but I expect Iñaki will be removed before 2023.

I think Mattia is extremely important to Ferrari - there's no way he can leave. This unbelievable monster of a car you see here is his baby.

What Ferrari needs to do is clean house their entire strategy department.

Agreed, he should be leading the technical program instead of overseeing the entire team.

Hunter v Hunted. With all the things that come with the latter, I’ll be curious to see if he passes the longevity test, requisite in being in conversations/comparisons re all-time greats.

Plenty of drivers have gone on heaters, very similar to golfers. In ‘28 when Max’s contract is up, does he have 1.5 or does he have 4.5 (.5 because obvs has to split the first with Masi).
