Nice round. Any chip-ins?

Hoping to be able to play one more round in October. Gotta wait for all of this damn rain to stop and dry everything out first.

Not one. But at least 6-7 times, and from difficult places, chipped it stiff with easy tap in putts. My buddies ( of course we have a small wager going) started whining about it. Really made my day.

Got a round in Saturday between the hurricane rain bands.

Where I couldn't miss the fairway the week prior, I hit 0 (that's zero) fairways on Saturday. Worst day off the box I can recall, ever. Was able to salvage 6 pars...but poor putting also haunted me on the back 9. Time to take those lessons.

Got 18 in today. Probably the last round with the yellow ball as the leaves will turn and drop during Oct. Transitioning to the white ball - more difficult for me to see in the air.

My game is finally coming around - just in time for friggen winter :-(

Planning a December trip to Florida. What is/are the best public course(s) in Martin County or adjacent counties? Best to me means course condition, scenery and overall experience including dining.

My favorite courses in that area are the Florida Club in Stuart and Hammock Creek in Palm City.

There’s also the PGA Village in Port St. Lucie. The Peter Dye course is my favorite of the three at PGA. The Fazio course is decent. The Wanamaker course is “ok”, but not for the price.

I honestly cannot tell you about dining as I’ve always went somewhere else for dinner.

Thanks, I will have a look. The Dye course is private, correct?

The PGA Dye course is public, but very very expensive in the winter.

I played there a couple decades ago for $24 l, cart included during the summer. But it was freaking hot.

I used to be a "polar bear" until I took up golf.

Florida Club and Hammock are over $100.

I was in the area a couple years ago, look for "hot deals" on GolfNow

Polar Bear. I get cold when it drops below 50 degrees.

Played in the 50’s with a 2 club wind and no sun = no fun. Getting ready to shut it down in New England. Nov 1st will be my last round. Hope to get more in down South during the winter.

James, I will ring your doorbell if I get to AZ.

Playing one last time this Sunday (on my bday) with my good friend before we can't golf anymore here in Cincinnati. Looking forward to playing 18 holes!

It's been about 3-4 weeks since I last played..so should be interesting to see how I do.

Also...doesn't help I tore my right bicep playing in our league sand volleyball a few Friday's ago. lol.

Played so so this past Sunday. The weather was damn near perfect! Plus, the course looked amazing for being at the end of the season too!

Driver was good..somewhat pleased with it. Chipping from 100 yards in was very good as well. 9/10 times I would land on the green. Putting was average but I always had a decent first putt.

Now, the irons. Wow...I need to work on them this offseason. I am not sure what is going on. I shanked a lot of my irons shots. I kept hitting the grass / dirt before hitting the ball and would not make good contact. Not sure what is going on. I might go see a golfing instructor this winter a few times to try to figure it out and fix it. Definitely doesn't make the day enjoyable.

Started lessons. Changed my grip and backswing so far. Guy said I should be hitting my 7iron 195-200.

89 Saturday with 43 putts on aerated greens
84 Sunday with 41 putts on non-aerated greens. Found myself on the green-in-2 for 3/4 Par 5's....sadly getting par on all.

Goal for the 2 rounds was not to flub any shots. Can state that goal was met in both rounds.

Something is telling me to just get putting lessons.
