But you do not know it if the car is ok or not. You still have that code STOP125076 and that is related a possible flooded cars. It would be better if BMW just make the new cars for all of us bypass the normal queue and delivered them as soon as possible. At least I myself will not accept a car that has floated in seawater. What about warranty issues and other things?

It doesn't give me any codes... it seems clean... which would be a good sign, the problem is that no one knows where and when and if my car will be delivered... absurd!

Hopefully things work out to your satisfaction. I live in SC and have driven past the port of Charleston many times. At any given time there are hundreds, possibly thousands of parked BMW SUVs awaiting a ship. The city of Charleston is at or near sea level. Most flooding is a result of rainfall (fresh water) and it drains well and does not rise to a level sufficient to damage a vehicle. I hope you receive your car soon.

I have recall codes:
0099420200 ”F9x G0x Potential Damage 1.0” 0099520200 ”F9x G0x Potential Damage 2.0” But both codes VIN Status: Closed and finally by VIN number BMW.at shows: STOP125076 ”Evaluation of Salt Water Damages” Neither the dealer nor bmw has informed me anything. Very frustrating. Last edited by torso; 03-08-2024 at 01:20 PM.. |

the dealer called me, he says my car has been stuck at the port for a month due to several cars that were damaged in transit and needed to be checked. Delivery is now scheduled for the end of April and the car has been shipped. It's funny to note that just yesterday BMW customer service called me to tell me that my car was blocked at the port due to simple delivery delays and the car is still at the port waiting to be loaded and delivery is scheduled within two months. In two days two different versions. I would say excellent customer service for a car worth more than 100K euros.

My situation
My situation
I ordered BMW x6 40i in -April 2023 -August in production -December they told me that the car has arrived, I did the Driver test, everything ok, and I asked to have the car registered in 2024! January 2024 they told me, on BMW's part, they are blocking deliveries they didn't tell me there was a recall or damage due to hurricane Indalia! with the VIN and google forum search I got updated and spoke and showed photos with the local BMW manager! they said it's true, but they verified the car is in perfect condition, but BMW asks to replace parts even if they are perfect they are waiting for the replacement for mid February the replacement should arrive! after which you can register your car! I was thinking about giving up on the car because if it gets damaged by sea water the car might cause problems in the future, out of lack of trust, I asked a friend who works at BMW, I said take two or three photos of the car chassis to see if they are corroded by sea water, he sent me the photos and the photos are perfect! clean in my opinion not all cars are damaged by sea water the spare part arrived at the end of February and they changed the part. hen they told me that there is still a cable missing for the control unit which is not available almost anywhere at the moment (he had a BMW expert order it urgently) beginning of March the cable arrived, they told me that they have to do wiring with the control unit, and leave a guarantee for BMW, after which BMW is ok, it can be registered they told me that towards the middle of March, turnkey assets let's wait and see.... |

The real problem is BMW's totally lacking communication and the slowness with which they act. If a car is damaged before or during transport the customer should be notified promptly as well as the solution should be prompt. Instead they spend months and months without knowing where it's going.
Then as you write it takes a month for a cable... if in a month the machine gives you problems what do you do? are you going another two months without? If the service before you've even paid for the car is this, what could it be after you've paid for it? This question is the real crux of the matter. What are we really buying? I really like the car and I hope everything goes well. However, I think it is very plausible that it could really be the last BMW I will buy. |

We believe that BMW HQ will create a check list where if the car passes OK - dealer will be able to hand it over to me... We hope... But who knows, I hope they send more instructions as soon as possible. |

Update, stop code has been removed and had the dealership on to confirm it’s on its way to the UK.
Your BMW X5 has been built and is currently at Cuxhaven port of departure. The status code is 193. The expected delivery is week 13 - 25th March 2024 to your BMW Centre. |

Hello everyone.
I have an update from my dealer... Yesterday I received a message that the car will NOT even be handed over and a new one will have to be put into production... So far we have lost 1.5 months waiting for what will happen next and now there will be at least another 3 months waiting for the next car... Really great... |

I got this unofficial information yesterday. The official message directly from BMW headquarters to the dealer should come next week, probably as soon as Monday. That's probably why they haven't informed you yet. |

I got this answer from my dealer today…
”According to information we have, the car is ok and needs no repairs. But it is light green category so BMW should double check this. Therefore, the car has an active stop” Last edited by torso; 03-19-2024 at 08:27 AM.. |

The status of my car changed to 193 yesterday and is now in Zeebrugge waiting for transport. The car is still in STOP mode and no one knows if it will be checked again before handing over to the dealer.
