I paid 7000 Can which is 5300$ US plus $250 install. It took three weeks to get mine so that should be what you should expect. As for the price shop around you should be able to get 15% discount. Mind you I've been buying from my dealer for over 20 yrs. |

My 2016 M5 had the M Performance Akra and while it was almost 9k retail it sounded brilliant. This one sounds good too; Id like to hear it outside and not in the containment of a shops walls that accentuates the sound.

When I google the part number, it shows up as “M Performance Silencer Syste 189020” - is that correct? Seems like multiple sites have it and the price seems correct I suppose, but that’s an odd description... I was going to pull trigger on the Dinan exhaust but like the way this sounds way better

Sounds good.
Can't wait for outside video. Indoor video always tend to sound louder and have some echo effect.

The valves open/close button works. Not sure how else you want me to put it.

I think what he is trying to say is we can’t see the valves anywhere. Every system for this car or any other previous M car with a calves exhaust had a very noticeable machined bracket where the stock valve assembly mounts. We don’t see that in the photos you posted so we’re just curious if this system has a design that is completely different than any previous design ever. If you can look under the muffler section near the back of the car and see where the wires are connected and take a picture it would help us figure out the design. |

Got it. The tech said the valves were built in and he's never seen such a set up. I did ask based the initial question about the valves if the open/close button was plugged in anywhere and he said yes. I do know that there was 3 or 4 additional small boxes with the kit so maybe hardware was in there. All I know for the moment is that I can open and close the valves. Even while in efficiency mode If i close the valves it gets even quieter. Anyways I'll see what I can do about pics but not sure I want to lay down in the snow or dirty garage floor. I do have to go back to the shop in a couple weeks so while it's up I'll take some shots. |

Let me ask you this. If there were no valves in the system the open/close button would not quiet the system down right? I'm more of a "does it work or not" kind of guy. Not particularly bothered with how it works so excuse my ignorance when it comes to specifics. |

The button also impacts ASD. AFAIk in "efficiency mode" which I assume you mean Comfort engine mode?, the valves are closed by default and the button just turns on and off ASD, which would make things sound quieter/louder inside the car.
