Not sure about F15//F16 but on F85 you can remove two fuses and achieve the desired effect.

Wow, I didn't know that! I may be mistaken, but I think F85 has same transmission ZF8 and pretty much same transfer case - so that should be possible on F15 too. Do you know which fuses are those?

Just poking around a bit last night it looks like it's been done plenty of times. Quite a few videos on YouTube of xDrive cars with the transfer case disconnected running on 2wd dynos with no exploded transfer cases.

The right fuses for F15s is probably the only thing holding anyone back from trying it. I've also seen some posts where people have been able to code it to be off.

So you're saying BMW is wrong by this statement? "If wheel slip is detected by the ABS/DSC system, xDrive can react within a tenth of a second to redistribute up to 100% of the engine power to the front or rear axle"

Are we still talking about power vs torque? Don't you think it's synonymous in this situation? I'm pretty sure everyone describes AWD systems as a method of power distribution/redistribution.

Very curious how have you confirmed that the front output shaft is still engaged (or isn't 100% disengaged)? Again, if you have knowledge you can share on this please let us know. Otherwise someone here will run a test soon I'm sure of it!
I'm thinking catalinp is just trolling at this point as has not been able to provide any type of reference for the claims being made.

That would be the rotors, that would be my guess.
99% sure, the harder you press the brake, vibrations are stronger.
