looks good~
I have prepared this project by myself. I purchased electric power steering parts(same pump model, hose, fuse and fittings), but don't know the electric wiring. If possible, could you let me know the instruction by reply or PM? Last edited by maicol76; 12-08-2016 at 12:49 AM.. Reason: wrong word |

Installed this M24 kit a few yrs ago. Steering feel was the same...felt nice to get some weight loss. (also pulled a/c at the time).
The shop that did the install was amazed with the power steering path of flow (goes from left to right a bunch of times). IIRC its a Mini pump. |

Actually it a MB A class pump now. Quick question did you retain the power steering cooler? Another member and I have gotten differing opinion for M24. Would be great to hear from someone who has a the kit on for a bit. Thanks.

Interesting that the they changed the pump. Seemed like and advantage for using the Mini part was that everything was still BMW (albeit small adv).
Yes, on the cooler. I think it required a few more fittings, but it was felt that the cooler was a must have. |

Kit is on. Haven't had it on track yet but will tomorrow. It has a breaker that you turn on/off as you need the PS. It draws alot of power so it nice to be able to turn it off when not needed ie in pits, but also if you need to move the car without the car on it make it easier to turn. Will report on my build thread with updates.

if it draws a lot of power, do you think it runs the alternator more? or is powering the alternator a lot less significant than turning the power steering pump?

Yes I have on off switch for the pump on my dash.
I don't think it runs the alt anymore than normal. Just a drain when sitting still.

Instead of starting a new thread, I'd like to revive this one.
I just lost all PS at barber over the weekend and DRLane turned me on to the concept of an electric pump. As I am piecing together prices of a new Hydraulic pump, rack, new coolers etc, it may be feasible to go with an electronic setup. Can you guys chime in as to what this all took to get right? I understand there are a few companies out there who have created a kit, JPMarketing, Motorsports24, and OG Shark sounds like he is wrapping up his kit soon. I would love to retain AC, as i do drive the car on the street like once a year that happens to be august in orlando. Lol. The belt size for that may be trial and error. I would also like to know if a cooler is necessary, sounds like both JP and OG have ditched their coolers. If anyone also has some installed pics, that would be great.

warp10 care to chime in here with how everything is going with the setup?
Also, do you have an instagram account? Would love to follow the build more closely.

Question for you, do you still retain the OEM Power Steering Reservoir, or is that eliminated with this setup? Subscribed to your YouTube channel, and followed on IG! Any pics of the setup installed, Adam?
