I have the EXACT same issue after the upgrade - all works as before but I’ve lost all details in HUD for songs and phone calls! Someone needs to address - it cannot be that we upgrade and lose functionality that has frankly been there since like 2019.

Same with me, looked everywhere. I do see the details on the main screen just not the HUD.

I have zero idea how BMW quality control can let these updates out with such horrendous results

1) the car will not acknowledge the primary driver any longer. I am only “guest” and have none of my profile info. When I press the button to enable the primary driver, it asks for a pin. I input it and it says it’s wrong. I say forget and it says I can use a QR code but then says there is no internet to connect to. In the middle of one of the largest cities on the US
2) I go into the app - all my info about the car is lost. It says “GPS is no longer active in the vehicle”.
3) all lists as I mentioned no longer work. It now acts like I drive did in my 2018.

So my $100k SUV now is bricked. Nobody else is having these ridiculous issues??

I think you have a special case

My experience is very fluent with every update.

Except few glitches which are pretty normal when we talk about sw versions.

With last 07/2024.40 problem i see is that in Carplay mode telephone widget do not display recently called person list.

Yes, mine ended up in the same state after the 8.5 update. When I attempt to add a new driver profile, I get this error: “No mobile data reception at current location.”

No BMW customer support on weekends and no way to reactivate the built-in cellular connection.

All BMW services/sites/networks/etc are down. Some supposedly due to the hurricane and others who knows why.

The heads up display seems to be severely dumbed down as compared to iDrive 7.0. Doesn’t even display the map unless you are about to turn.

My 2024 X7 X40i received an update in September, and it just randomly started to upgrade the system while I was driving. For a brief moment I had the new UI but now it seemed to have reverted back to the older version as shown in the picture. Does anyone have this problem? Can you guys post pictures of the new UI so I can show my dealership that the software is screwed up? Also I don’t see the ASS settings.

Is anyone here that is still on the July version of 8.5 on the x7 able to see all song details in their HUD? As posted, since the upgrade in Sept, I have lost this functionality that was there for several years. It’s super odd yet I haven’t seen anything about it and the dealer has zero clue

Did BMW simply remove this for some reason? It shows all details when I turn off HUD in my main cockpit but not in HUD.

Any ideas?

I am on 07/2024.40 and do not have the song details in the HUD anymore. Maybe they thought seeing more channels was better than the details.

I have not received the recent update in the app yet to report if the details came back.

Thank you. So odd. Am I the only one that found that useful when looking to change channels? I don’t care about the name of the channel. I had that on my BMW X5 since 2020 and was on the x7 u til the “upgrade”. Frustrating to lose functionality vs gain

Agree, it was helpful. I use the main screen now to see the channel song list now. I would prefer to have it in the hud.
