We just had the Extreme Contact DWS 06 installed onmy wife's 2023 X7. After a week, these tires feel excellent. Compared to the OEM Continental Premium Contact summer tires, they provide a softer ride in my opinion. The ride isn't nearly as jarring when going over speed bumps, potholes, etc. The traction and control on wet roads is noticably superior.
Granted, it's not a runflat so there is the issue of dealing with a flat tire, which we experienced on day two, yes day 2, of owning the tires. The driver side front picked up a nail and jettisoned it while my wife was on the freeway, leaving an open hole in the tire, causing the tire to go completely flat within 1 minute of the low tire pressure warning light coming on. Thank God for BMW roadside who dispatched a tow trunk within half and hour, had it towed to Les Schwab at my request, where they repaired it for free.
She got almost 28,000 miles out of the OEM summer tires, which doubled what I expected she'd get. She doesn't drive like a bat out of hell and we live in Western Washington state where it's wet eight months out of the year and averages 60 degrees, so the road temperature itself isn't causing excess wear.
We are definitely happy to have true all season tires now for our climate. She will fell much better and confident driving in December through March when the road conditions are at their worst.
I’ll add this……
I spoke with three BMW service managers from the three largest dealerships in Western Washington regarding the different speed ratings and if BMW had any problem with those tires going on the car. I was told by all three that as long as the sizes were to correct OEM specs, that BMW would have no issue and that they would be vastly more concerned with a squared setup than the correct sizes with different speed ratings. As a matter of fact, Diacount tire could only get three of the four tires on because the front driver locking lug was so overtorqued from the factory that they couldn’t get the wheel off to change the tire. They broke both of my locking lug keys trying to get the wheel off. BMW Roadside had to tow the car to BMW of Bellevue where they had to remove the locking lug and install the driver front tire, which obviously was a different speed rating than the rear. On top of that, they discovered that Discount Tire had installed the rear passenger tire with the outside facing in, so they pulled that one off and remounted it correctly. They had no problem with it. Then they gave me a new set of locking lugs and keys for free, for the trouble.
I have to give a big shout out to BMW Roadside for towing my vehicle twice in two days to assist in fixing tire issues, no questions asked. Again, tire issues with tires that have different speed ratings.
I spoke with Continental customer service prior to purchasing the tires regarding the different speed ratings and was told over the phone that the different speed ratings should have no negative affect on the vehicle, and the only thing that would be noticeable is that one of them would be stiffer to a very very keen driver (I can’t remember if it was the front or back that would be stiffer). Both my wife I haven’t noticed anything except a much more comfortable and confident drive from the vehicle versus the summer Continentals.
I was told basically the same thing by the installers at Discount Tire as well regarding the different speed ratings.
Again, none of this has been tested and I am hopeful, and confident, that all will be fine.

Good information. When we swapped to the DWS06s we picked up a spare tire set from Modern Spare just incase of a rare incident in a remote location.
