It snowed last night / today.
It is April. Do you hear me? April. We had a really nice day earlier this week where I had hoped (pathetically, I now realize) that winter was over. Some green grass, sun, birds, etc. And now this. Oh well, supposed to get warm again next week so this will melt easy - only a few inches. But still, it is April!!! Shot from the road. |

Thanks - really just the angle of the pic - there are some neighbours, but we aren't on top of each other like city lots.
But we have 2 acres total so the back end is all treed and it is nice and quiet. Plus it backs onto another 30 acres of bush owned by a corporation who is just holding it - no divider, so I walk their property every now and then with the dog. |

Yeah, Vancouver is crazy, but I've been noticing prices go crazy around here. And I'm not sure if it made it on the news in Vancouver, but house prices in Toronto jumped 33% since last year. I suspect at least a part of this is due to the foreign buyer tax in Vancouver. |

It's a Nexus 5x, which, although part of Google's Nexus line, was made by LG. They've had a bunch of issues with some of the LG phones because over time as the processor heat cycles with use, the solder to the package breaks down.
All it really takes is one trace to separate, then the software just won't run. You get what's called a "boot loop", where the phone will endlessly restart itself trying to figure out what's wrong, but it's a hardware thing. A lot of people have had it happen during this latest software update, because the processor is running at full steam installing it, and the stress of that heat plus the average age of the phone at this point pushes to its literal breaking point. Mine wasn't during an update, just tried to open the group chat. Screen froze like it had a memory leak or something, which wouldn't have surprised me with that app, but then it restarted itself until the battery was dead. Luckily I still have my old Moto X that I can activate and do something while I figure out what I'm going to do in the phone department. |

I'm on Google Fi now. If they give me a refurbished 5x I'll stay, been happy with the phone and service. Don't care to spend what they're asking for the Pixel though.
If I'm SOL, I'm thinking I'd get a 64GB Moto G5 in the Amazon Prime flavor, but I'd have to shop around for a new carrier. |

I've always heard good things about the Samsung phones, I just prefer more barebones Android. And I'm cheap. Ha |
