rich5741, I was actually tying to get a feel for how long your recently completed X7 will take to ship from the factory to you in NY. My X7 just started production (VIN assigned) today according to the tracker. Since I can see the timeframe it recently took for your car to be built from this thread, I figured knowing how long yours took to get from the factory up to you in NY would be a similar "time in transit" for me to expect when they ship it to PA. I think your car was showing "carrier assignment" on 3/10.

Thanks!

They must be working OT...I just logged in for my mid-day check, even though Genius and dealer told me scheduled for production week of April 4th...sweet!

It changed to “on its way” a day later, and arrived at the dealer 3/15 which is a Monday - not sure if they were making any progress over the weekend.

3 or 5 depending on whether you count business or actual days.

I do live in NYC where the surrounding areas have tons of dealers, so it may be near distribution hubs, may have made things a little quicker.

I won't lie Wild Blue, it was at least partially inspired by reading your post and seeing the reference you made! I think I started lurking on the forum the day you started your EPIC journey (which btw everyone is having a blast following along). Your X7 looks incredible with the black wheels. Full Panda Bear I am very much looking forward to getting ours, but love the fact that I can look at all your epic photos at night when things finally settle down! I have family outside of Anchorage and they have made the Canadian highway trek to PA several times over the years. Things like locusts swarms, feet of snow and break downs many many miles from help were all we heard about of the car trip! Your journey sounds way cooler!! Continue being epic my friend!

That's awesome! Appreciate that update and hope we get to hear and see about when you take possession! Hopefully your shipment is equally expedient to NY. Everyone seems so calm in the home stretch... I feel like I will be taking Zquil to be able to sleep during that last week from knowing its on its way!

And now today's update on mine:

Ordered 2/24. Week 11 build. Began production 3/4. Completed production 3/16. Awaiting carrier assignment 3/17. Dispatched from factory 3/18. At the dealership 3/19.

My salesman hasn't even called to say it's there - just found out from my daily check of 'My Garage' on BMWUSA.com

I don't have time to pick up until next Saturday 3/27 so it will sit there for a few days.

That is about as perfect a timeline as one could hope for! Thanks for sending the update. Hopefully the weather will turn for the better by the time you go and pick it up!

Where are you located? West coast cities seems to be taking much longer time.

Both instances are up the coast to NY. West coast definitely seems to take longer unfortunately.

Yes, I am in Western NY. Took 16 days from "Production Begins" to "At the Dealership". X7FamilyTruckster for Philadelphia should be similar. West coast I would add another ~10-14 days.

Hey guys! Wanted to drop in and introduce myself. Have been a member on e90 post while I had my 06 330i. took a leave of absence after I sold it but so hype to be back. I remember when changing the “angel eyes” from yellow to white was the mod to have and having to put hids with resistors so the car didn’t throw codes. Looking thru the current post boy have times changed. I’m especially excited for all the coding that is now possible. As far my new purchase x7 40i msport black sapphire metallic with black vernesca leather, executive package, dynamic handling, driver assist pro, luxury seating. order accepted on 3-11 with build week 14. keeping my fingers crossed the car doesn’t get hit with executive package cuts. Trying to convince dealer for PCD. supposedly he is having a hard time getting in touch with them. Let see how it plays out!

That's such crap when dealers try to pull that. And I have no idea why any dealer pushes back for any customer wanting to do a PCD. It's no money out of their pocket, and nothing but a better experience, prestige, and goodwill for the brand, increasing customer loyalty.

You could even call the Performance Center yourself. (and I have)

Hey guys, just wanted to say my week 14 build was completed and dispatched this week (13), so looks like the factory is pumping them out! It started production on 3/17. I am wondering what month by month production figured look like (less means more out the door kind of thing)

Took 1 day to get to the dealership (crazy efficient!)

For anyone still playing
We ordered on 2/28 with a week 14 (4/5 - 4/9 build week) allocation the dealer had. It started production on 3/17 (got its VIN) and was completed on 3/31. It only took a day and was delivered to the dealer on 4/1 (of week 13), 1 week prior to the assigned build week of the allocation my dealer had. That, basically 4.5 weeks from order to at dealer.

Same here, other than our order was placed on 2/27 and completed 3/30(dispatched from factory). Took two days to the dealer in NY.
