We can all probably drive one, but can we drive it fast enough to generate enough downforce to make it perform the way it is intended.

If you're prepared to go in at F1 drivers pace fine but there is no backing out if the driver suddenly thinks that they are coming in too hot.
Certainly helps if some go-kart and performance car driving course experience is taken beforehand to quicken and hone reaction times.

I used to go shifter karting, and man was it fun. The G forces were so brutal that I bruised my ribs, even while wearing a rib protector. And yeah, reaction times are shortened so much as compared to tracking my road car.
