Unfortunately there were no updates on my M3, but there was an M4 that just came in. Got to take it for a spin about an hour ago.

That thing is bad ass! Great sound, great throttle response, insane pull off the line, nice steering feel. Everything about it was great. I took it to a large parking lot and took it through some nice turns.

It made me want my M3 NOW!

Front Plates

I wish we weren't forced to install front license plates in Texas. This will ruin the whole front of the car...

You are not forced. I haven't had one on since I moved to Texas in 2003. Not even a fix it ticket. And you will get inspection passed without it too. I also checked with the dealer, and he will not be installing the front plate if I don't want it.

You are wrong on this one. I work in the transportation industry to I can tell you how it is...

Up until September of 2013 everything you said was valid and this, only because of a law that was in place that did not allow a police officer to enforce the front plate. This meant that you could basically get stopped for not having one, but would not be given a ticket. Since there was no way for them to enforce the ticket they simply never stopped anybody. In September however, the Texas state legislature amended the law to allow law enforcement to "enforce" the law of the front plate and hand out fines.

You had better get that front plate installed buddy...

I will also say that we have the choice to take the risk of not adding a front plate to our cars and pay the $200 just to have our cars look good...

Austin got their black M3 launch demo in today, looked good. SO interior is very close to fox red. Happy to see that rear seats do fold down, but there is no fold down center armrest.

I think the last 4 or 5 cars I have purchased, I have signed a release at delivery saying I did not want the front plate.

Well I didn't have to sign anything I was told they don't do it by default you have to ask them to install it.

Have you ever gotten a ticket?

Hey All, I'm new to the BMW seen. Leaving my G37 IPL behind and ordered an M4. I got the last production slot at my dealer and can't wait to get it. Scheduled for a late august/early September delivery. I got to test drive the M4 today and it was amazing! I couldn't take it over 5K RPM since it only had 30 miles on the car, but it was still great!

My build:

Black
Black Extended Merino Leather
Highlight trim finishers in Black Chrome (I mentioned the CF Interior so it maybe switching to that)
Executive Package
Lighting Package
DCT
Adaption Suspension
Upgraded Sound
Initially got the moon roof but saw the car without it and had them remove it right away
Enhanced Smartphone Integration
Black 19" Wheels

New M4 on the lot at BMW of Arlington

As others have posted also... I didn't test drive it but got to sit in it and turn on the engine... very interesting sound, a little higher-pitched than I expected at idle, but not bothersome to me.

I took some cell phone pics and will post later. Alpine White over black extended leather, tinted windows and the black 19" wheels.

Think I'm still favoring the Silverstone color at the moment.. but not ordering till next year anyway.

This is all nonsense. No one is enforcing this law unless you happen to get a dickish cop and even then it's a fixit ticket. No front plate on my car, enjoy ruining your bumper.
