I must be among the absolute minority here. When i am choosing a car in this category or a sports car, I don't care if it has good stereo, sat nav, interior design, iDrive or equivalent, bluetooth, etc...So long as none of them irritates me too badly, I am ok. I tend to only care about drivetrain, chasis tuning, handling feel, grip, performance, etc...Exterior need not be gorgeous, but doesn't hurt if it is. It mustn't be ugly that's for sure...

So, are both of your cars base models?

No they aren't and I didn't configure them. They arrived at the dealer loaded to the gills. I think you misunderstood my post. I said I won't choose one over the other based on those items. I din say i don't need or use them.

My 07 Yukon is a base bottom line. Then the fun began. Lowered on ground force kit. 22's. tints, ken wood double din, JL Audio x2 amps and JL speakers all around. Sometimes base models make a better car.

Actually, the wheel spin is a big reason for my departure from the M5 but certainly not the ONLY reason. An old debate so I will not labor on it but primarily it is the "connected" feel and handling. M% doesn't touch it. Also, the 991 has just enough luxury. It's classy and high performance. Sort of a well-rounded pkg.

Personally, I am not a fan of the Audi finish either. Not a fan of the exterior looks as well but that is all very subjective.

Yeah to me the low seating position is an anti-luxury. I could not tolerate driving a 991 regularly but I would find it entertaining as a low mileage car for occasions when I feel like it. If I went with a Porsche for my primary car, it would be a Panamera Turbo. However the Panny has terrible depreciation so I rule that one out.

I just found this . It's over a month old, but pretty good. I've always enjoyed the Rosenthal videos. Looks pretty cool in Original too!

Honestly I'd rather have an S6 than an RS7, I'm just a sedan guy.

Surprisingly, I would have agreed with that myself until I got it but it is quite comfortable. Henry drove his on a long trip to SC and felt the same.

You would like the California. Definite higher position. Just not as sporty feeling. Very easy to love though. Highly responsive car with comfort. Electronics no match for the M or P cars however.

The 991 is like a glove around my not so buffet like chassis. Its easily a daily driver and even a long driver (plus 200 miles). The 18 way buckets put the M5 seats to shame. Yes its a sports car, yes its not the M5 but it was brought up so ... when in rome.

Yeah I have no doubt I would like the California. Wish I had access to wholesale prices like you!

M5 seats are really nice - but just so - far from amazing. The multi-contour seats with the active bolsters in my '09 E60 M5 were significantly better.

I concur--- I had an E63 M6 and those seats were awesome. My SL63 has crazy adjustments via the Nav screen. There are 10 levels of side bolsters, 10 levels of thigh bolsters amongst a myriad of other options. I know some buyers dont like the dynamic seats but I do (the ones where the sides press in on turns).

I wonder why Bmw m division decided to not go all the way out for this new platform. They should really have made it stand out from the other 5 series. For this kind of money there's no excuse for the seats to be fully laid. Fully leather limiter delete. I think I need to tell them how to do right next time.

Its a great car I have no doubt like the F10 and even the CLS63TT... they all have their pros and cons.

Urban Legend is hilarious.
That's a disease on this board my friend. Conjecture and supposition abound. Cars are defended because of ownership rather than seat time. I love when people say "BMW would never do this..." like they have any insight whatsoever.

As you noted, they are all great cars in their own right. Would love to own an AMG at some point. In fact, in many ways I prefer the interior over the BMW. In many ways I don't. Audi interior appointments are my least favorite of the three. And Porsche, well you know the story there :-) Btw...look for a new thread with the baddest, sweetest, fastest, meanest ride you've seen in a while...not from me but a board friend. Coming soon. You'll know when you see it. Been drooling over this car for two days now.

Did you buy a beautiful RS7? Its a sleek super car, and people tends to be happy when the see the shape of the car. I have a M5, and i still love the RS7.

RS7 and RS6 have the same engine/transmission/suspension the only difference is how they look. I think that most of you know Chris Harris and below you can find his opinion on the matter:

As I posted in the dark side thread below- Im thinking about this car. Not because its better but because its different. Ive never had an AWD sedan (mid to full size that is) and this thing is quite big at 197 inches long. I drove it and was impressed with several things but it was a short drive and placebo effect was in full force Im sure. The sound of the car is very impressive: barks and burbles and a nice deepness to it not commonly heard in a smaller displacement turbo engine.

I can place an order and back out at any time so Ill probably do just that. The Dynamic package with steel springs vs air suspension and std and diagonal shocks seems intriguing as I hate that ever prevalent body roll in heavier cars and this thing is portly at 4500 lbs. I didnt test drive one with the DP as its not out yet but avail for order.
