Awesome MY2020 update, thanks, Jason !
Here's my initial takeaways with a cursory scan: - Both the 40i and 50i have no change in price! Woot! ($73,900 and $92,600) - As recently reported, we do get both 50i and M50i - The Tanzanite Blue and Ametrin Metallic colors both are an additional $1950 option. - As expected, the new "Full Merino" leathers will be the same price as the existing Ivory/blue full merino leather - The "M Sport Differential" on the DHP is only on the 50i, not the 40i - The new 22" black wheels are available with the 40i too, if you get M-sport - I only see one new interior trim, and that is "XET BMW Individual Fine-wood Trim Fineline Cross Black with Aluminium Inserts " - Cool, you can now get an alcantara headliner either in Anthracite, or upholstery color - Yes, the Drive Recorder is available with the Parking Assistance Package on 40i. Standard on 50i and M50i - The Premium Package for the 40i now says "Rear manual side window shades"... note this has been a discrepancy lately, whether manual or powered. Same thing for the new "executive package". They're listed as standard and still MANUAL on 50i and M50i - The black 21' 752 wheels no longer are stated as not available with the M-sport - 4NM Ambient Air Package is finally in the US ordering guide - 5 zone automatic climate control is now a separate $800 option in addition to cold weather package - "Extended shadowline trim" is available for $350. Curious what that is. Seems like a low price for a blacked-out grille and exhaust covers - runflats specified as standard for all three models - Laserlights only listed for the M50i - Gesture control still listed as standard on 50i and M50i, available on 40i, even with recent supply problems - LOL. "Design pure excellence" listed on 40i and 50i. I guess the M50i isn't designed with pure excellence. - the 22" black wheels, don't really look black to me. |

I keep my fingers crossed that this is still a result of a support issue. I don't understand why you should be able to get lasers on a X5 40i but not on the X7 if it's all about exclusivity of the V8-models. Hopefully, they are available by the end of the year when it's time to order. Other than that, I'm quite happy! |

1. Like other things lately, BMW may be having a supply problem with powered rear side shades. Only this time, they may have seen it coming, and decided to change the spec early to "manual", and are just putting out powered shades until they run out. 2. This is just a printing error or miscommunication, and will be staying powered. I find this unlikely, as it used to be correct, then changed. BMW had the opportunity to make these new pricing and ordering guides all correct with the new info, but still put this in there. |

On a different note, it's puzzling to me that laser lights are only available on the X7 M50i whereas on the X5, they are available as either part of the executive package or as a $1000 stand alone option across ALL trim levels! Also anyone notice that you can now no longer order the M-Sport package on the xDrive50i? If you want the M-sport package with a V8, you have to order the M50i which comes with M-Sport as standard. This actually makes sense because though the base 2020 X7 M50i is slightly more expensive than a base 2019 X7 xDrive50i with M-Sport package, the M50i comes with a lot more standard equipment that actually more than offsets the price difference. Yeah, apparently they're marketing the M50i as the new M-sport package for the 50i.
I'll be interested to see what the take rate is for the 50i, with the M50i also available. |

Another thing I notice, Gesture control is listed for MY2020. Another item currently having production supply problems.
I see the ZPK Parking Assistance Package has increased by $100, due to the Driver Recorder. Seems like a good deal. If you get one of the new Full Merino Leathers, (Ivory White, Coffee, or Black) you can get the headliner in upholstery color Alcantara. For those like me who will be getting black, I wonder how different this will be from the "Anthracite" alcantara already included with the ZMP M-sport package. As for the rear side shades the 2019 ordering guide says electric. The 2020 guide says manual. But the interesting thing is, BOTH of them are stated as "417" for the ordering code. It's gotta still be electric. The ZPP Premium Package has been reduced by $200 ($2800 vs $3000) because the 442 (now 44A in MY2020) Heated and Cooled Cupholders has been moved to the ZPX Executive Package. The Premium Package is now only on the 40i. The Executive Package is now available on the 40i, not just the 50i and M50i. You order one or the other--the Executive Package has everything in the Premium, and more. 2VH Integral Active Steering now available as a stand-alone option for $1,150, or still included in in the ZDH Dynamic Handling Package 407 Panoramic Sky Lounge LED roof is no longer available as a stand-alone option, as it has been rolled into the Executive Package. Interestingly enough, though, 4A2 Glass controls is still available as a $650 stand-alone option, even though it's also in the Executive Package now. Huh... I don't see 3DS Display Key as an option anymore on the MY2020 guides. I hope that's just an oversight, and that it's still available! It looks like the Aerodynamic kit for the M50i is the same "715" option that's currently part of the M-sport package. So it doesn't look like the M50i body kit will be any different from what's already available. Too bad. Last edited by Wild Blue; 05-31-2019 at 09:12 AM.. |

So I have a few research questions as I continue to look into the X7 as my next SUV...
1) Can someone explain what this terminology means in the pricing guide: XXX will delete STD or 100% equipment YYY (where XXX and YYY are different option codes) I am looking through the pricing guide, pricing different combinations, etc. There are some option combinations that are not allowed for different models - for the most part I can figure that out reading this document. However, the above terminology is noted throughout the document and has me a bit confused since "STD" is not a specific option code as far as I can tell, it is merely an abbreviation for the word "Standard" and pertains to standard options that are available on different trims. Not sure what I am missing here ...... 2) Has anybody found a decent online source that will provide invoice pricing on both the base model AND the different options available? One thing that I have learned over the years with shopping for cars is that the "true" invoice pricing that dealers pay for their vehicles is a closer guarded secret than some of the highest classified military information . But that said, there still is good invoice pricing information available on the net that can be useful when pricing new cars and negotiating with dealers. After a basic internet search, the lowest invoice pricing I was able to find for the base models are below. But I still not have been able to find invoice pricing for individual vehicle options like I have seen for other vehicles: x40i: $69,225 (MSRP: $73,900) x50i: $86,620 (MSRP: $92,600) M50i: Not Available Yet for 2020 (at least I could not find anything) Link: https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/2019-BMW-X7-Price-c27485 3) There are various "cash" incentives that I have seen offered for the X7. They include an Owner Loyalty Bonus Cash, Military Bonus Cash and College Bonus Cash and of course the BMW CCA discount. My questions here are twofold... Does the dealer pay for these incentives (thus eating into their profit margin) or does BMW pay for these incentives? I suspect it is BMW, and not the dealers - but this can vary from brand to brand and even model to model. What are the typical cash values for these incentives? From what little I have found, I believe the Loyalty Bonus Cash for the X7 is $1500-1600, the Military Bonus Cash is $700-$1000 (and is tied to USAA Federal Savings Bank membership with some other restrictions with using USAA financing vs BMW FS financing), and I have no data on the College Bonus Cash amount. As for the BMW CCA discount, I believe it is $1000 for the X7 and BMW pays for it (albeit it seems like the processing time for it is ridiculously long based on info from other threads in this forum). Thoughts? Edit.... I just noticed that the NADA Guides website has invoice pricing for different options. The only option that seemed "off" in pricing (both MSRP and invoice) was the M-Sport package. There is definitely some decent "wiggle room" when it comes time to negotiate....

Example: The X7 comes standard (STD) with 65A CD-Player Prep. Now, if you opt for option 4NM Ambient Air Package, standard equipment 65A will no longer be standard because it is not possible to have both. Therefore, 4NM will delete STD or 100% equipment 65A. I would recommend focusing on what will be deleted when you pick a certain option. I assume they mention "STD" so it's easier to find where that particular feature is listed. Often, it's pretty obvious. I mean, if you opt for the Bowers & Wilkins sound system, you certainly won't be getting the base system or the Harman Kardon at the same time. They just have to point out the obvious... |

I don't see Canberra Beige Vernasca Leather as an option for the 2020 model. Does anyone know if that is a mistake? I don't see a "beige" replacement.
Thanks. Quote:

I thought they were adding the "e" model for 2020?

We don't even know yet if there will be an "e" X7 in the first place.
The X5 was supposed to get it for MY20 in the U.S. but that was delayed until next year. The only SUV that might be "e" for MY20 in the U.S. will probably be the X3. |
