Yeah wild the price variances... I paid $1400 for all this with parts from a dealer, others are paying under a grand... This is one of the highest I've seen...

I do not understand where people are paying <$1k for this service at dealership. This is NorCal and this is in line with other 2 dealerships in SoCal.

I have a great local indy in Howard County Maryland.
Airport Automotive in Sykesville, MD
I changed these fluids at 14k miles
Oil change, front and rear Diff, Transfer case and reset computer, and tire rotation for $700.

Reading the prices in the forum makes me realize how fortunate I am. Owner is in the service bays not in front office sitting behind a desk. He owns and drives BMW's as well

You don't need to go to HOCO. https://www.reddsauto.com/

Just finished my 2nd free service at the dealer for my 2025 m60i with 15000 miles. The "transfer case fluid change" pops up in the CBS. Dealer did it for free as well as keyfob battery, engine oil/filter, 3 cabin air filters.

I also asked for a quote on front and rear differential fluid change. The price is $1300 for each which is insane.

Anyone know a shop with reasonable price for these differential fluid services in SoCal?

Try Autocraft in Irvine. No affiliation just a happy customer.

They do good job. I used them previously until I found my current BMW mechanic. His shop is tiny and not the best looking but he’s solid. I’m hesitate to recommend him simply because his shop isn’t professional looking. He did front diff for me for $150 labor. I brought my own fluid (Redline) and two drain plugs. So $150+$23+12=$185 for me. I watched him do it. Autocraft will likely cost more but not at dealer price. My dealer wanted over $800 for the job after 15% discount on front diff. Crazy pricing at dealers in So Cal.

Interesting to see from your post above that BMW now automatically changes the transfer case fluid at 15k miles! But for pre-Lci X7’s BMW still claims that the transfer case fluid is lifetime, when it’s the same G5 fluid in the same transfer case part number.

Perhaps BMW found that waiting till 32k miles to change the transfer case fluid (as I did) causes shutter and drivetrain oscillation leading to front differential failure (as I did).

BMW’s SILENCE on pre-LCI Transfer Case Fluid maintenance recommendations and a lack of extended warranty coverage for 2019-2022 X7’s on both the front differential and transfer case resultant damage,… speaks LOUDLY regarding BMW’s loyalty to their customers.

For the class action lawyers pursuing this matter, you should take note here.
