Are you experiencing any issues with rubbing in the front? Do you have more pics, esp of the front?

You're right, but my goal is to actually run all seasons on a square setup and call it a day. We don't get enough snow here in Maryland to justify a dedicated snow set. And if we do get snow everything gets shut down and people just stay home . I might just do 255s all around on 20x9" wheels, not sure.

Just like everyone, it seems, I also kept going back and forth about the decision on how to solve the issue of winter tires. I have always owned a separate set for winter and wanted to do that also with the X3MC for its convenience.

I was originally looking to buy the 20" 764M OEM winter set, however it costs a ridiculous C$6,999 here in Canada and even after a dealer discount it would have been C$5,999 - no thank you. After a lot of research, I ended up buying Niche Vosso Matte Anthracite wheels at size 20x9 with +27 offset (SKU: M204209044+27) for C$1,653.

For tires themselves I wanted to get the best possible winter performance as weather on local mountains can get reallty bad at time, so I and opted for Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 SUV in square setup 255/45R20 105T for another C$1,518. So, in total the winter set came to roughly C$3,250 ($2,540 USD) with TPMS sensors.

I ordered 68mm hub caps off eBay for C$20 to make the wheels look even nicer.

So what do I think about how the set looks like? I love the style of the Vossos but wish there would be a two-tone variant available. 20" wheels will look a bit small on the X3M regardless of of style and less sporty due to fat winter tires. Even then, I am pretty satisfied with the look, especially for the price.

We haven't been getting a lot of snow in Vancouver this winter and due to COVID we haven't either been driving up to the mountains. So, my chances to test out my new Nokian's in snow and ice has been limited but based on the little I can tell, they do grip very well and are also fairly quiet to run. Not quite as quiet as the Michelin's on my old X1, but good enough.

In terms of ride comfort, the winter tires of course feel very different to the summer tires in a positive way. The Nokian's are not made for performance driving so they can feel a bit squishy if pushing them in a corner which some other tires may not do, but that hasn't been a bit issue for me.

I know few people have also been going with Niche wheels and sounds like others have also been happy with their choice, so I can recommend them as a cost-effective winter setup.
I like your setup
Any recommendations for TPMS sensors that work? Do we need BMW originals?

I replied to your DM but I had mine installed by Kaltire. Wasn't expensive but absolutely necessary for everything to work.

No it won't have any rubbing issues. Most people are running +15 less offset than factory without rubbing, and these are only +5 less offset and a winter tire is typically narrower than a summer tire in the same size.

I'll have more pics once I put them on for winter in a couple months, so these are the best I have for the time being.

20" Style 699M Winter Set

My BMW dealer is recommending the 20" Style 699M set for my 2020 X3M Competition for Winter not the 746M kit. They are discounting wheel sets by 15% the month of Sept.

Will the 699M set fit the X3M Competition?
Online parts website seem to all indicate this wouldn't fit the X3MC when verifying fitment.

Just curious why you went with ET27 instead of ET35? I seem to find the Vosso's generally in ET35 for the 20" variant that fits our X3MC's. ET27 is almost $100 more expensive per wheel?

I can't speak for the above poster, but I went with ET22 for my winter wheels as they were the most flush with the fender vs. a higher offset.

35 would push them in more/make them more recessed. We are talking millimeters so not huge amounts, but I would imagine the ET25 would be more flush than the ET35.

I suppose you could run spacers but that is a pain.

I'm no expert but hopefully some will chime in.

Get the OEM HUF brand.

The prices vary widely online - tirerack had them for ~$40 a piece. Other places had them for ~$150 a piece!

I ended up going for the Niches also, VOSSO M203 in Matte black 20"X9" +27 fronts and 20"x10.5" +30 backs, paired with Pirelli's Scorpion Winter 255/45's and 265/45's respectively. The VOSSO's being hubcentric just won me over and they seem to get positive reviews, plus they dont look too bad either for the price.

I will post pics once I receive them and get them in the car

Had the same dilemma. Fronts do not fit even with spacers.
275/45/20 is too wide and tall for wheel liner arches. even 265/45/20 is tight fit. Any snow/ice or rocks stuck in tire will rip the liner off.
Went with 255/45/20 - stock fit in front.

I picked up the DINAN DC3 wheels with the Pirelli Scorpion in a 265/45/20 front and 285/40/20 rear. Bolted right up using factory lugs. No rubbing at all. So far so good.

Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10, Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 SUV that's some real winter compound.. on par with the M badge in serving it's purpose, its a winter tire, so get the best one at pushing winter around... stupid pirellis, I don't know why I listened to BMW.... p

Anyone reading this have Nokian's on their X3/X4 M?
I’m running 265 40 21 Hawk 9 studded square setup on my M40i. I used to run these on my Macan. Unfortunately the front 265 40 21 touch the front inner fender well when backing up near full lock. I’m replacing the fronts with 255 40 21. Diameter is almost identical to the 265 40.

I love this setup. I will hopefully get my LCI X4M next week and need to start thinking about a winter wheel/tire setup.

Do you know if the LCI has the same bore size as the pre-LCI? I can't seem to find the LCI data.
