There is a toll road too.
Toll road doesn’t require that sticker, only the free HOV lane needs it.

In Houston, or Harris County to be more specific, the toll road/HOV lanes are shared with two lanes on each side. they use cameras to detect whether there’s a second occupant in the vehicle while you pass through the tollbooth. Individuals are supposed to be in one lane and will get charged accordingly on their toll tag. The HOV lane is free for two or more occupants at certain times On the weekends, both lanes are toll lanes. In other words, it’s completely automated and works quite well. No need for a sticker on the body of your vehicle. This system has been placed for a very long time, so I’m surprised any city or state would require a sticker on the body.

It’s truly amazing how different Austin and Houston drivers are despite only being less than three hours apart by car. I’m not sure that this is a good thing, but you can get shot in Houston for going under the speed limit in the very left lane. People like to get whereTF they’re going! Austin drivers don’t really pay any attention to what they’re doing. I have lived half of my adult life in each city, so I have experienced both firsthand.

I would have never guessed the XM qualifies for this, with its super low MPG, haha. I wonder if it’s just a small fine if you have received the sticker but just haven’t put it on? Sort of like the license plate fine, $25 with proof of correction. Now I am tempted to consider XM over X6M.
